A neighbor/acquaintance accompanied his mother to the grocery store one afternoon when he was eight years old. He put his lap/shoulder belt but she refused. On the return trip, their vehicle was struck by another. She was ejected and died of internal injuries. He says he wishes he’d been able to force her to buckle up. The loss of his mother threw his father into a deep depression and left eight year old him with survivor’s guilt. They’re both in recovery and attend AA meetings at the senior center I sometimes volunteered at. I moved out of my podunk little town after graduation and lost touch with them. Jim, your dad told me you listen to these videos because you find the robot voice soothing. if you’re out there, what happened to your mom was *NOT* your fault!

The jolly ragtime music accompanying the stories of total despair gets me every time.

If hell existed, I could see that as playing in the background 24/7 😆

I always watch these reddit compilations on mute (primarily because I don't like the voice of the reader)

The person with their sister has the same age difference between my sister and I. It was hard to hear that story because I kept thinking of my own sister and how I would react if something like that happened to her. God’s blessing be with them.

A man accused of several murders but never convicted did a documentary about his experiences, during which he forgets to turn off his mic, goes into the bathroom, and confesses to himself that he’s the murderer. Dude got caught cuz of his own documentary.

Why would you call the janitor to help clean up a suicide???

It was on a different thread, but I still think about the guy who got really drunk with his girlfriend, and they went out onto their hotel balcony, and the girl started slipping. He tried to save her, but accidentally pushed her off. His friends all accused him of murdering her and refused to listen or believe him when he said it was an accident. He got sentenced to jail. For a complete accident.

Having a ruined life is never fun. People should really be careful about what they say or do.

I still think about the poor guy diagnosed with a rare non curable brain condition. Hope he’s in a better place now.

Or places that send janitors to death sites without even a mention, knowing it could traumatize them.

In middle school this kid that used to bully me Mason, was always picking on me and then one day his mother committed suicide, and this is probably the worst thing I've done: he came to school after a week of not being there, tried to pick on me again and I just turned around and laughed, he asked why I was laughing and I said: "With a son like you, I can see why your mom pulled the trigger." He never talked to me after that, later dropped out of school. His life literally just got turned upside down, and then I put salt on the injury.

13:17 is so heartbreaking. A good person being changed forever because of some monster. She didnt do anything, she was just creeped on at work and is forever scared because of it. I really hope she gets the help she needs to move on from that trauma.

5:15 this is ridiculous - the kid should have gotten in some kind of trouble, but the people at fault were the senior medical professionals and the business (or government agency) for allowing an untrained student too close to patients who may have physical injuries.

At 7:20, how f**king stupid are some people? The lady couldn’t turn it adjust the throttle on a boat? That’s a whole series of poor decisions that led to the guy drowning…..

I was expecting stupid decisions leading to homelessness, awful jobs or arrests (Karma), not things leading to death!

This Reddit thread has been reuploaded probably a hundred times now. Idk why these channels are so damn lazy that they do this when there’s literally a near infinite source of topics they can upload. These vids have become even more low quality and low effort then reaction videos.
