Canadian citizens have OAS pension depending on how long you have live in Canada, then comes CPP Canada pension Plan wherein every individual that has business income( if they contribute) and employment income Mandatory contributions which you can start taking age 60 onwards, then you have Pension plans that are work pension plans like in India, then you have registered retirement savings plan which converts to registered retirement income fund at age 71. Only the last RRSP you can withdraw from it for life long learning plan for pursuing education. Or first time homebuyers plan to buy you 1st principal residence. You have repay this over 15 years. RRSP is voluntary not mandatory

Hello Sandy, Congratulations on making such informative vlogs! It's really nice to meet Harry today and know about him. I went through the same struggle after migrating to Australia from Pakistan few years ago. As a federal government employee here, I agree about the perks of public service shared by him, including the level of diversity of employees' backgrounds and availability of different roles. Must give a plus point to Canada here as, in Australia, only citizens can apply for federal government roles and only permanent residents and citizens can apply for state/territory government roles. Students and work visa holders cannot apply for any government jobs here. The other plus point goes to Australia due to higher wages in both public or private sectors.

Good info, but I am also working in government, they do ask for good reference every time if you are applying for job that requires experience. I have worked in private sector also they are more strict with references, therefore referrals are part of hiring process. You can’t ignore.

There is no government job in Canada all sector are operated on PPP model ( Public private partnership) ICBC , CRA , TRANSLINK etc are all third parties work for the government of Canada. Government jobs in India are entirely different from so called government jobs in Canada .
