I swear I thought I’d never see that come out of its box! Thinking about buying another Renesis from Mazda & storing it away for the day it’s needed, even though I’ve only got 20k on my “new” one now. Afraid they won’t be available in 5 years.

The way it measures your altitude is it measures the barometric pressure. It also means it can account for changes in the atmosphere that alter its density like humidity or temperature

Actually those compression numbers are slightly inflated due to the extra lubricant they add to the combustion chamber for storage. The dead give away was the cloud of smoke that exited the exhaust ports. Try a another compression test after you've heat soaked the engine.

O trust me I'm going to show some good compression manipulation in the next video haha

@@RADPotential My 1st 13b rebuild was a failed attempt back in 2005 because I accidentally screwed up my corner seal to side seal clearance. Engine wouldn't start at all. Did compression check and was showing 60psi all across. Added some tranny fluid and quickly checked again and was showing 80psi. Engine fired up and ran but wouldn't restart. Had to keep adding tyranny fluid. Finally broke the engine back down and saw my error. This was that engine I built that had the RA seals that lasted over 50k and but blew the experimental tephlon coolant seals I had.

it will be nice to see when it as run for is break-in and at hot température!to see how we lost when it's hot than a cold one,and we got more after break-in(we could get althow during it entire life since is first rebuild)

I always enjoy a good compression check. Nice to see one fresh out the box get tested.

Always good to learn more about the rotary. Specifically compression and differences between OEM and aftermarket. Cheers!

I'm jealous. My low mileage S2 RX-8 makes 90-100 blazing hot.

Great video. We need some how to and where you get some of these items. Or if you make them, how you make them.

Talk about perfect timing. I just had a brand new REW torn apart, rebuild w/ viton seals, and mild ported by Banzai. Really curious to see the videos w/ this new engine and all the compression test results.

Newer compression testers have a barometer built in to determine local atmospheric pressure. I'm not sure when the barometer was added.

the sensor probably has some kind of barometric pressure sensor built into it

Any recommendation on which rotary compression tester to buy? Think it would be a good idea to check my FD every year or so.

105-110 psi on all rotors/sides, no major variations - is it a candidate for a rebuild or it is still too healthy?
