They were more interested in pushing a toxic ship (Stolitz) than giving us any information about the main character's home lives and parents.

They really are its like stolitz is more a cult then a ship to be honest

It's so weird how they expect us to care about the death of characters that don't have a second of screentime or even any dialogue. Moxxie's mum doesn't count cause we didn't even see her FACE!! So it doesn't count.

Tbh, it feels like they're pushing this show for the hardcore fans that know every single information about it, that's at least how i can wrap my head around it

Considering how little build-up for most of these backstories there are, I don’t understand how so many people can feel so invested in such surface-level characterization 😅

This show has all the necessary elements for a good show but the writers choose to focus on so many strange boring aspects.

The fact we know the name of Crimson's bodyguard before we know the name of Moxxie's own mother. 💀 (excellent video btw)

Almost reminds me in Zoophobia (Vivs webcomic before Hazbin or Helluva) where instead of focusing on the captivating story of facing your fears and growing as a person following Cameron in a world that’s inhabited by her biggest fear. We cut to unnecessary high school drama that didn’t even serve a purpose to the story in any way. completely taking away attention from Cameron (who is the main character til Viv decided that she wanted more than one lead of her story which made it very inconsistent and overwhelming that it made it hard for the viewer to even grow with anyone.) Unfortunately inconsistent writing isn’t anything new with her, it’s a shame that Mox and Blitz’s moms were both killed off without any build up. Mox’s mom could’ve been the one who pursued him into music which is why Moxxie is fond of playing guitars being the last reminisce he has from founded memories of his mother. Tilla could’ve been someone that always Blitz encouraged him that he always has so much to offer than what most people give him credit for. Just something to give those past relationships build up

I actually didn't mind that focus was pushed off of Cameron. Since it's a webcomic she probably wanted the time to show off all the character designs she created. It's sad she didn't keep writing it. I think she was going to bring Cameron back in to talk with that kid with the green sweater at some point. It would have been interesting. It also had queer rep that wasn't forced. Could you give me more of your opinions on it?

@@avivastudios2311 The art was gorgeous but the story needed work. I get what your saying, Viv wanting to show off and introducing her cast of characters, but it would’ve been fine if main supportive students were the main 5- “Zill,Kayla,Jack,Spam, and Vanex”. In my opinion, I felt like the story really began to pick up with Jacks talk with Cameron, with his life and the consequences he had with being cursed with bad luck. It was nice to see Jack have someone to open up with and see Cam grow pretty fond of Jack by getting know him as a person and giving her good character growth in the process. Realizing he’s not a violent animal her Zoophobia paints him as, but a sweet kid with struggles. And that was something I wanted continue following in Cameron’s story watching her overcome her fears while helping others along the way, but the issue with Viv is that she has too many cast of characters to work with which makes the story feel clunky with hardly any plot and takes the focus away from Cameron who is supposed to be the main character. And this is just me but I don’t care for Addison (the kid in the green) I just found him to be real irritable as a character to me. He goes falling for someone who..I believe is a teacher by the way and hardly knows this person (Viv described Addison to have trust issues and was implied to have suffered trauma from a terrifying childhood being experimented on in a lab. So him liking someone he barely knows just makes that fact inconsistent) And not only that but that said person he crushes on leaves a rude remark towards one of his longtime closest friends and Addison brushes it off as if it didn’t happen. So yeah…I wasn’t feeling that arc or Addison as a character in general

Moxxies mother doesn't bother me as much bc i feel like they were trying to imply he repressed it/actively tried to avoid thinking about his family but tilla????? It felt like they were gonna do at least a little more with her- cash' line in circus about blitzo helping his mom felt like it was gonna be the setup to some big payoff but it just.....wasnt

I felt the same about Moxxie's mom. We don't find out anything about her. We don't know how she got involved with Crimson, what her hopes were for her son and neither Crimson or Moxxie talk about what she meant to them. I know there's only so much time in the episode, but I still feel like they could have given us more on her. There's also the fact that all of Crimson's henchmen had their names revealed on social media, but they never bothered to give her a name. As it is, Moxxie's mom feels less like a meaningful character in her own right and more like a quick way to explain why Moxxie is generally good-natured despite how horrible his father is.

I feel Moxxie's mom's death in particular felt forced as it's not like we had any implications on how Moxxie felt about his mother before the flashback happened unlike with Blitzo where we at least got him looking at a photo of her and a brief mention of how he cares about her in the flashback scene in circus. In fact Moxxie's whole background in Exes and Oohs just feels like just made up on the spot.
