It's really weird how in early season 1, Stolas is a coercive rich bastard who happens to have a soft spot for his daughter and Stella seems to be a troubled, if abusive wife lashing out at being wronged by her husband, and then in season 2, Stolas is suddenly an awkward UwU softboi who is only like this because he doesn't quite understand relationships, and Stella is a walking caricature who allegedly does everything she does to torment him, seemingly for the sake of her own amusement

I feel like Stella could’ve been a good character/villain if we could’ve gotten foreshadowing that she was a bad person who is asshole to everyone and is brat but we didn’t even get that as in every scene she was in at least before season 2 we felt sympathy for her as her husband cheated and is very public about his affair but then when we see her again she does a completely 180 and is seemingly evil which again I have no problem with asshole, bitchy and bratty characters but at there was foreshadowing to does traits but with Stella it just feels like they wanted to make us root for Stolas x Blitzo

The irony behind the deliberate decision to write Stella like this, is how while the writers wanted to justify Stolitz in the most lazy and easy way possible, they don't realize they've also completely RUINED another character that was well written in the process... Octavia. Why? Simple. During her first appearance she is presented as a child who's life has been difficult due to living in a house where her parents don't love each other. Her depiction was pretty accurate to how a real teenager going through the same circumstances would be like, and you can understand where where she comes from. Its important to note that Octavia mentions how she misses "when her parents didn't hate each other", and how in the first flashback of her childhood, we see Stella and Stolas sharing bed, something that current Stella wouldn't do in a million years and instead would force Stolas to sleep in a dog bed. This HEAVILY implies Stella and Stolas at the very least tolerated each other, which is already a contradiction to what Season 2 is trying to make us believe. Going back to Octavia's first appearance though, whenever she interacted with her dad, she was not subtle about how much she blamed him for everything, and that's justifiable within the current context since all we knew at the time is that Stolas fucked up, it IS his fault shit went down because he had his adventure with Blitz out of a selfish act. Octavia pointing fingers at Stolas back then was something we could understand as an audience, and judging from Stola's reaction, he too knew that well. But now... Stella is a cartoony and over the top villain who turns out to have abused Stolas their whole marriage, even before he cheated. And mind you, she wasn't subtle or fake about it, she had nothing to hide at all, she blatantly shit talked Stolas and made public events that directly mocked him. So, if this is the route we wanna go... If this is the context we want to have... What the fuck Octavia? Not only would this contradict her memories directly, but also makes her actions look stupidly unfair. Why blame Stolas for everything when you have a Looney Tunes villain right there? Why say "your parents didn't use to hate each other" when apparently they did the whole time? I've seen multiple people argue that Octavia knew no better because young teens don't realize or understand how adult work, and that's understandable... But here is the thing, teens don't point fingers with such ease and blame one parent, they simply feel overwhelmed about the situation since it confuses them. Realistically speaking if we go by this logic, Octavia shouldn't be able to point fingers at anyone and blame either parent for the fall down of their household. Another argument I see is how "Stella put up a facade" or "manipulated her into believing she's good"... But as I said already, she has made it clear she doesn't give a shit, and on the contrary, she wants EVERYONE to know how much she loves tormenting Stolas, so it's impossible Octavia never caught onto this too at some point in her life. So yeah... It's insane how the writers never realized that, by writing Stella like this, they're also assassinating an already existing character too.

i feel like the show (and the fans) has an issue with exalting stolas above blame for anything. disregarding his trauma and issues, hes actually a pretty pathetic and selfish man. im no stella apologist, but i loved what her character COULD have been. bad, yes. a villain? certainly. but COMPLEX. NUANCED. now she's just another excuse in the list of many of why stolas is allowed to get away with everything bad that he does; because she hits him. thats all it comes down to. nobody is allowed to blame him for anything, just because they wrote stella to be worse. such a missed opportunity to make a genuinely compelling story about two damaged and hurt people trying to make it work for appearances, and their daughter. she's just written this way to justify and purify stolitz, which in and of itself is a really toxic (but narratively compelling!) relationship of its own, that shouldn't even be seen as good or healthy in the first place. oh well.

Like, its so weird how un apologeticaly evil Stella is, shes not fun evil shes just abusive dumb evil too. What even is there to Stella anymore? Even the badest of bad villians in literature have SOME form of humanity to them! Frollo is a monster but at the center is a manipultive god fearing man who fears gods rage but also uses gods rage against others. In Moral Orel the dad is toxic, sexist, selfish, alcoholic, delusional, but at his core is the shred of a soul, a man who hates himself who hates the person he became, who knows that he is a poison who attacks those around him (which he even states!) What does Stella have? nothing. She takes down Stolas character un my opinion. By making her 100% at fault for everythung Stolas had done, Stolas no longer is complex. Stolas no longer needs to improve his selfish actions for the good of his family.

I think something that could make Stella more of a compelling character is to make her have a somewhat decent relationship with her daughter octavia. I feel like it would give Stella more depth if she showed she cared even a little for Octavia. Even the most manipulative of people can care about people. And it doesn't even have to be that Stella cares about Octavia for selfless reasons, they could still show how narcissistic Stella is by making the reason be Octavia is the person most like herself. It could also create some drama because it's clear her brother (forgot his name haha) is willing to do anything to get Stolas' money and power, even if it meant killing his niece. A scene with Stella opposing her brother over the safety of her daughter could go a long way with making her less of a two dimensional character.

I think it would be interesting if Stella actually tried to parent Octavia when she was a child but since Stella is a spoiled brat she had no idea how too. Stolas however is a natural parent so Octavia ends up attaching to him this lead to Stella having built up resentment. Now this; plus their force marriage, is why Stella hates Stolas.

it IS possible. at the very least we know Stella doesn't have any negative thougths towards her daughter. and there is fuel: -in episode 2 of season 2, Stolas is arguing with hr on the phone and based on his comments it seems Stella thinks he's trying to turn Octavia against her -in western energy, she doesn't give a fuck if Octavia gets Stolas' money and territority So she might still be a total dingus and also be an ass to her daughter, its possible she at least isn't as cruel towards her as to Stolas

The whole situation around the change in Stella reminds me of how in shipping fandoms when there's a "canon" ship (typically male/female) but the male character is also part of a popular fanon ship (typically male/male). People who favour the fanon ship and write fanfiction about it often vilify the former (female) love interest and turn them into a bitch so it fits their narrative even if the change is entirely out of character. It's giving a - hating a character because they get in the way of their OTP - kind of feeling. Instead of getting in the way, however, Stella (and to an extent, Octavia) represents why Stolas having an affair with Blitz was not an okay thing to do, essentially marking them as homewreckers.

Honestly to me it feels like now Stella is also going to be used to boost her brother as a villain, every main female character has a single male counterpart but Stella appears to have two now, it makes me fear she will become stuck or forgotten in order for Andrelphaus to be a more complex antagonist, that she could become nothing more than his pawn/puppet when she could have been so much more. And if this happens, that she is displaced for her brother´s character sake, then I ask: why introduce her in the first place?, in that what if of Stella not being in the picture: Andrelphaus and Stolas could have easily had beef from before the show, he could have revealed the relationship of Stolas and Blitzø as one step in a plan to make him suffer and take his place/belongings.

To me Stella from season 1 is not the same as Stella in season 2 because when you take into account the abusive bitch Stella is in season 2 episode 1 you realize that in reality she shouldn't have cared at all about Stolas cheating on her with an Imp. If anything she should've found it hilarious and something she would've been telling absolutely everybody just so she could see him hiding in a corner in shame especially if she wanted Stolas to suffer like she literally spits in his face about. Let's face it, if she was bragging to all her friends that Stolas was bad in bed while he was in literal earshot then why the hell wouldn't she brag that the only person he could satisfy in bed was a low class Imp to his entire family? And taking the point further Stella in season 2 because she wouldn't care about Stolas cheating on her beyond a conversation starter, she wouldn't send an assassin after his ass for it either making the episodes with Octavia and Striker irrelevant and practically retconned. If her greatest enjoyment in that house was making Stolas as miserable as possible then she would NOT put her favorite torture toy out of his misery no matter how "embarrassed" she was over the affair because her priority would be to pay it back ten fold. Now after he stood up to her and declared he wasn't going to be abused by her anymore THEN she would definitely be sending a hitman to make him suffer and die in a hole in the ground because THAT is what she cares about; her dominance was challenged, she was told no by someone she deemed less than her and she wasn't going to tolerate that for a single second and NOT BEFORE. I'm not the kind of person who hates an unsympathetic villain but I prefer such characters be a little deeper than a gravel road puddle and consistent with their motivations thank you very much.

Viv's comment on the male centered show is interesting, because it's to put in opposition with Hazbin which is "the female centered show". A bit weird, given that in Hazbin, it's mostly Alastor and Angel who are the fan favorites. HB suffers from a cruel lack of long term planning, and season 2 is a mess plot wise. It almost feels like they are doing episodes just to pad time and give the audience something nice to look at, while giving Viv and Brandon a way to dump ideas they couldn't put in HH. As interesting as Andrealphus is , we didn't need yet an other name to add to the cast. What he represents should have been carried by Stella to give her more substance. We suppose she's not completly hostile to Via, since she gets her on the week ends and Via doesn't seem to mind. Having Stella trying to play nice and caring toward her to bring her to the "dark side" of the Goesha, while trying to get her to hate on Stollas would have been quite a nice perspective. I don't see how that is bad by itself? Like, you are obviously hinting at misogyny here and I think that's totally bs. The problem wasn't that "Oh no Stella isn't a strong independant woman anymore because she was manipulated" It was MUCH rather that they retconned info we got in past episodes (Octavia saying Stolas' cheating was what ruined the household when that ended up being bs because Stella was an abusive dick before that) and the fact that people were just disappointed because everyone imagined Stella to be better than what she ended up being... A petty, by nature unconditionally mean character that is also kind of dumb/unaware. We expected more when Stella was revealed to be the mastermind behind Striker's assassination, but she wasn't. A character being shown to be the big bad when in truth someone else that was manipulating them is the true big bad all along isn't a bad concept, it's great actually, but the way it was executed was just shit. The only reason Stella is written the way she is, is to justify 'Stolitz' happening. I'd be fine with her being an evil bitch - IF she wasn't given an entirely sympathetic motivation to hate Stolas. He cheated on her at least twice. It feels like the writers were going for a more morally grey situation in Season 1 - having both Stolas and Stella being selfish, self-centred royality - but then they decided to make Stolas into the victim to justify his cheating. One of the reasons I hate the writing decision to make Stella this pure evil character IS because her initial reason for hating Stolas was that he cheated on her. Before Season 2 there was NO hint that she was ever abusive or cruel to him before he cheated on her. All her Season 1 appearances are her being furious at him for cheating. Then Season 2 happened. Now she's just evil from birth and abused Stolas because she's a sadistic bitch. So now the audience can root for Stolas without him being a cheater weighing on their conscience. I hate this.

If Stolas was so miserable in his marriage he should have divorced Stella the moment Octavia was hatched. Especially if Stella had been abusing him from Day 1. Honestly, I think the dumbest thing about her writing is to make her motivation for staying married to Stolas is her enjoying his suffering. As far as we know, he has never done anything to her prior to the affair to make such feelings understandable nor does she display similar gratification towards anyone else’s suffering to make it clear that she’s just a sadist. We just know that she’s quick to anger, but that’s not the same thing. Honestly, it’d make more sense that she stayed in a loveless marriage simply because she loved the lifestyle of being married to a prince and her anger issues coupled with her short-sightedness led her to fail to recognize that killing her husband would downgrade her life.

Well done on releasing your first video. This video actually captures my thoughts on Stella and the fan reaction to her in season 2. Vizzie either changed the context of Stella's relationship with Stollas or took a new direction with Stella's character. Either way isn't a big problem because we saw so little of Stella in season one. There was still time to establish her character. But the problem is that, since establishing her character proper, she's hasn't been fully utilised. She's arguably the main antagonist. But, as you expressed, she only exists in service to Stollas. We know she's violent, spoiled, petty, spiteful and vindictive. We learned recently that she's kind of a bimbo and lives in the shadow of the men in her life. So we have the building blocks of a character arc. But it seems like, rather than watch Stella grow into a villain role, both enduring and learning from setbacks, her brother is going to swoop in and take the main antagonist role from her. I've seen fans criticise Stella's character as shallow. Because she announced that she likes tormenting Stollas. But her motivation isn't what makes her shallow. It's her lack of development. Why is it that Striker has gotten a villain song, while she hasn't? Why don't we hear Stella's voice in the phone call in episode 2? Why did we introduce another villain in episode 3 and not use Stella? Especially, given that we now know that Stella had set-up an ambush, off-screen, during this time. Opportunities exist for Stella's character development and yet they aren't being taken; because boy drama, new characters and crude humour is getting more screen time than anything else. Anyway, good luck with the future of your channel. Hopefully this video gets seen by more people.

Wonderfully and succinctly put. At the end of the day, stories should aim to create characters. Characters who exist in their own right and explore their world in their own terms. It's just quite unnerving that the entire female cast in this show has existed to further the plots of their male colleagues. Sexism is so widespread that honestly, I don't even think Vivzie realises the overwhelming message from the subtext here is "male characters are more interesting/important than female ones" and therefore "men are just more interesting than women are. Women are useful, but only in a supportive sense". And that's a problem. It's fair criticism which should be addressed with more nuance than "this is a male-led" show. Because that's not how it works. You can explore male issues without using female characters (especially main characters!!) as a tool to further their development. Helluva boss is amazing in many ways, and has opened up many opportunities for artists, especially on youtube. But I'm tired of hearing justifications as to why, in the 2nd season of the show, 2 of the 4 main characters have not received any character development. If they're in the show, you should develop them or at least expand on them. No matter how late it was when you originally conceived of them. Great video! Have subscribed. Keep up the great work. The editing on this video is lovely too.

LONG POST INCOMING Stolas was a character that was going to be a hard time to sell me from day one since he felt like he barely breaks out of being 2 dimensional (2 dimensions is his limit, he's not that deep) and 201 "The Circus" is where I came to hate him if 202 "Seeing Stars" didn't after taking that grace period. I could buy Stolas and Stella being in an arranged marriage and not being compatible but at least trying to get along well enough to bring up Octavia. I could buy Jafar as his dad (they even got Johnathan Freeman to voice him ffs) and resulting in a distant relationship. But retconning Stella to be a megabitch from the get-go, Blitz being his childhood friend and crush, and everything else 201 does to erase Stolas' flaws and artificially prop him up as the uwu baby man who did nothing wrong, none of it feels natural or logical. It's forced tripe and reeks of Wattpad yaoi fanfiction written by teen girls or adults who still act like teen girls because they have rampant unresolved mommy and daddy issues. And if anyone dares trying to bring up that the show was allegedly planned out, looking at late Season 1 and the entirety of Season 2 so far, could have fooled me. How would I do Stella's fall to villainy? One, well, Season 1 was okay with her portrayal, I'm sure I could find a fix in just that season but Season 2 is where the rot came in hard. Two, 201 needs a complete do-over, you cannot tell me with a straight face that Viv didn't write out some fanfiction of her characters and decide to make it canon. Make 201 about Stolas and Stella instead since they're pushing so hard for this twink to be a main character now. Instead of Paimon announcing the arranged marriage and showing Stolas a picture, maybe have Paimon introduce Stella as a guest of honor at the birthday party and drop the biggest revelation on Stolas that she will be his future wife. The two kids think it's a joke at first but once Paimon (and maybe Stella's parents as well) confirms it's true, the two kids awkwardly relent and try to get to know each other out of courtesy. Show them trying to interact during the party with scenes of Stolas trying to politely share his interests and Stella not really digging it (either completely neutral or a quick "that's stupid") and Stella trying to talk about royal duties or what them being married would entail and Stolas not really able to answer very well. When the party is over and Stella has to leave, the two might know they're not a good match but maybe it can change, Stolas says a proper goodbye, Stella gives a half-hearted "Bye. Thanks for inviting me I guess," end that act on Paimon giving an unsure Stolas a stiff pat on the head. Open Act 2 on the wedding where Stella is acting very tense and on the verge of evolving into a full-blown bridezilla. As the officiant is reading off the "We are gathered here today" speech during the ceremony, maybe have Stolas discreetly ask her why she's got a stick up her ass and Stella quietly snap about pressure and maintaining a proper royal image. A lot is riding on this union and they know it. Have scenes where Stolas wants to try to enjoy himself at the reception but Stella lightly elbows or swats him (keyword LIGHTLY, like a "stop being stupid" slap) to make him act proper and Stella trying so hard to stay proper in public she can't wait to be done with it. Show scenes of how the newlyweds interact through the first year where things may escalate but they still maintain some level of respect. Show Octavia hatching and growing up with a couple exchanges between them about wanting to make things work for this owlet with their own takes on how they want to raise her (Stolas as a daddy's girl and worthy successor, Stella as a proper lady in Hell's ruling class), ending the act on a shot of them leaving Loo Loo Land as the final fireworks show of the night wraps up, Octavia clearly having had the time of her life. Act 3 would open up in the present day but before Blitz came in as a homewrecker. Stolas is doing princely stuff, Octavia is studying, and Stella is doing... whatever a ruling mate does, maybe she's going around making sure the servants are doing their job, I don't know. However, Stolas would feel like he's going through the motions. We get glimpses into Octavia feeling like her dad is becoming more distant and her mom is being a bit overreaching about making sure she's trained to be a proper lady (hence Octavia adopting more emo/art goth fashion as a form of rebellion). Stolas and Stella are still trying to make things work but it's hanging by a thread. Arguments are now barely hidden and out in the open in front of Octavia, making her not want to be in their company more often than not, Stolas is bored and irritated, Stella is more aggravated than usual, it's a mess. To try to de-escalate the tension, Stolas suggests getting out of the house and Stella begrudgingly agrees, only under the condition she can spend overnight out of the palace so she doesn't have the urge to strangle him. While Stella is out, Stolas tries spending time with Octavia but it doesn't really go anywhere before she just asks for her personal space. This is where Blitz comes in, getting caught by Stolas in the study where the grimoir is kept. This scene would be kept to the point, Blitz trying to lie and smooth talk his way out of there with the book in hand, Stolas showing some interest in his hitman business, and making the offer to use the book "at a cost" (Blitz: Alright, Prince Hooker, how much am I paying out the ass? Stolas, ominously grinning: Pleasure me.) After that scene, cut to Stella being with her friends trying to have a good time but it keeps coming back around to venting about her home life and her friends suggesting a divorce and Stella maybe considering it but that'll have to wait until she gets back. Smash cut to the garden the morning after where that discussion is taking place, Stella is more calm, but still tense and trying to be professional. Have Blitz's escape from the pilot play out, Stella in shock trying to process what the hell happened with time becoming distorted and rage and betrayal building up to an eruption. Stolas wakes up expecting Blitz to be there (Stolas: Mmm, darling, what did you DO? Put me out like a light, you scoundrel.), and then, Stella ERUPTS, demanding Stolas to get his ass downstairs with answers this instant, the episode ending on Stella storming inside, toward the camera. Three, the show just needed better planning (episode 4 of Season 2 and the 12th episode overall is still WAY, WAY too early for what happened) and more screentime showing what Stella was going through. Politeness would be out the window and she could be angry, and rightfully so, though professionalism would be easier for her to run out of with Stolas. We should be seeing more of how Stella is trying to handle arrangements with Octavia during all this maybe to the point of being a conflict of interest. But ultimately to maintain Stella's villain status, it needs to be understood that she has every right to feel betrayed and humiliated, but the extent she's going to in response is too far even if Stella feels 100% justified. This also keeps Stolas' flaws intact and doesn't make it feel like we HAVE to like him by default and demand we feel sorry for an uwu soft baby man that hasn't earned it.

This would have been a much better take on the relationship between Stolas and Stella. A gradual deterioration of an arranged match where they were never really in love, but at least tried to get along initially and at minimum put on a decent public facade. It would also make more sense re: Octavia's take on her parents fighting in season 1, where they've been fighting for a while, but she remembers them not hating each other. I especially agree with the push to have everyone see Stolas as an uwu soft baby man. Stolas was more interesting when him cheating was a distinct character flaw, and the pairing Stolitz was better without Blitz being Stolas' childhood crush.

Thank you. Exactly my feelings about how Stella has been utilised in the show and how Stolas cheating on her is still inexcusable no matter how horrible Stella is. Stella really exists to take away all of Stolas’ accountability for cheating on her. If there’s divorce in Hell, divorce her first!? And he knew how old Octavia is so why didn’t he just divorce Stella the moment Octavia was of age? Andrealphus is JUST a Marquis and Stolas is a Prince. Stolas has actually a lot more power over Stella and Andrealphus combined. Because he’s an actual royal while the other two are just the equivalent of “I happen to be rich” type of nobility. In fact Andrealphus’ position means he doesn’t even get to wear a crown.

What I really really liked about Helluva Boss in the very beginning was Stolas being shown as morally wrong in cheating. When I first saw episode 2, and saw Octavia’s relationship with her father and the fallout of what he did, I cried. I cried because it was exactly what I went through. My father cheated on my mother and it destroyed my family for a long time. But as I got older and time passed, I came to understand more of the situation. It was a bad thing that happened, yeah, but it didn’t make my father a bad person. That’s what I saw in Stolas: a man who had fallen so far out of love, trapped in a relationship that wasn’t working anymore, and trying to find someone who could be better. What he did wasn’t right, but it didn’t make him *bad*. His conversation with Octavia and him trying to be there with her cut so deep because I thought it was something more nuanced than it turned out being. Genuinely my biggest disappointment with this series is that it fully justified Stolas cheating.

oh my god, i just have to say that - i never really reply to comments on youtube videos, but for some reason your comment got me extremely emotional. i completely agree and you said it better than i ever could. i think it's so unfortunate that they took these extremely morally grey and complex characters that were beautifully written in such a way that so many different people could connect with them, just to throw all of that away and sacrifice it. sacrifice it for a wattpad esque ship. (with an honestly creepy power dynamic but that's a different argument altogether.) it's so disheartening that the writers decided to take the easy route and not challenge people's views on topics such as these, ruining the complexity of both stella AND stolas. as you said, the situation in season 1 was a lot more nuanced, but now in season 2, a completely different picture is painted and stolas is fully justified when cheating on stella, just to make things with 'stolitz' less complicated. it shows that they really only care about certain aspects of the show and not all aspects. also, regarding how you related to episode 2 and could mirror it with your own situation, i'm so sorry that happened to you. as i said, i have to admit to getting a little emotional while reading your comment and i'm hoping that you and all of your family are in a much happier place now. i hope you have a blessed day/night

Stella, much like all of the ladies in Helluva Boss, should be given their own substance. They should be able to live and exist without having the men be the main focus that they are there for. It’s a great pain that we lost so much potential when season two started. Season one made Stella seem like someone that Stolas had lost. A life he’d ruined for himself and his daughter. That he went and tore down his own home in a chance for love and happiness. Stella’s behavior before was a consequence for Stolas’ actions, now she’s just the course of action. Her being this way makes the whole situation worse off. It makes Octavia look foolish, Blitz looks like the ass, and Stolas is just… a good boi.

Stella couldve been a dark reflection of Stolas: someone who also grew up isolated and unloved and seeking that love but whereas Stolas soon learns from his mistakes and tries to improve, Stella never quite learned, always demanding love but never doing anything to earn it. Sure she had epiphanies but she would brush them off cuz to her, shes done nothing wrong. Maybe out of loneliness, Stolas and Stella did try to make their marriage work, tried to be a loving, fairy tale couple but where Stella didnt mind living a lie (maybe she even grew to love her image of Stolas), Stolas was suffering forcing himself to love someone who he can never romantically love but admittingly, Stolas is just as lonely and affection starved so if he has to lie to himself and hurt himself, then sure. Also, the facade isnt perfect either, Stella is pretty controlling on how she wants "Prince Charming" act and is violently possessive towards him while Stolas is aloof and impatient with Stella with a "Im trying my best not to snap at you" restraint. Then the flood gates come out since that night with Blitz and everyone's worlds come crashing down. Stella is forced to confront the lie she and Stolas made, Octavia is seeing the dirty laundry coming out and Stolas has to decide whether he should go back to living a comfortable life albeit under an oppressive lie or live freely but at the cost of everything, from his family life to his reputation to his crown But nah, lets turn a toxic albeit justiably enraged woman into a bland villain whose claqs got sanded down to the bone and whose only goal is tormenting her husband to justify cheating and absolve her unfaithful, hypocrite husband from any wrong doing.

I personally think trigger warnings are dumb too BUT- it's mainly for discussion sake. It's not if someone sees the word abuse the have a fit, it's more so discussing abuse and abuse-related themes(aka abuse people might've actually gone through), though for a video covering Helluva Boss, you should kinda already know there's abuse in it so you shouldn't need a warning. Buuuut it's more so people who have abuse trauma can avoid discussions about it, not the word abusive itself. Maybe I'm misunderstanding lol but I've been on the internet too much. Censoring the words is just dumb tho cuz that takes away the point of the warning and if people are getting triggered over the warning rather than the content itself, that says a lot about them lmaoo.

What’s dumb is that even true crime channels feel compelled to censor out the word “abuse.” FFS: if someone cannot bear to even hear words like abuse, rape, or suicide, then they are probably not going to be watching that kind of content anyway. Similarly, when you are watching a show discussing a show aimed at mature audiences like Helluva Boss, you expect to hear discussions of mature topics.

Georgia Leahly deserves better for her voice acting. She kills it. I thought that maybe the two loved each other once, but grew apart and felt pressured into resentment by the marriage. The way Stolas was tripping over his words in LuluLand, it made it sound like maybe they did love each other at one point. That would have been much more compelling, and while it doesn’t have to make her sympathetic, it gives it complexity. Helluva Boss has gone downhill ngl. It was nice while it lasted I guess

Character flip of the century; I predict that if Helluva Boss runs long enough that Stella will flip from antagonist to reluctant ally to Stolas/IMP/Octavia when Andrealphas lets slip to her that he must kill her daughter in order to get what "they" (in actuality just 'he") wants. Is it out of character for her? Maybe a tad, but, there is a large difference between being too selfish to tend to a scared child while you're sleeping, giving them a distant presence of yourself for their childhood, and...just letting them get snuffed out while you watch, uncaring that the one thing that exists that proves you once existed will die before you. Andrealphas arranging for Octavia to be killed is a bridge too far, and that bridge is Stella's pathway back to reason.

There isn't a single character in the show that isn't just utterly awful. It's hell after all. It seems naive to expect multidimentional characters in this kind of edgy "mature" comedy. Two seasons in and we never have seen Stella and Octavia interact, that's the kind of writing we're dealing with. Like an artist who can't draw hands and resorts to covering them up with sleeves and pockets.

To be fair I think Stella's not actually meant to be DUMB, per se, she's just implusive and unambitious. She wants Stolas dead cause his infedelity will reflect on her reputation (granted yes the show should probably make that more clear) and doesn't care if she gets naything out of it because she's ALREADY rich, all she wants is the satisfaction of seeing Stolas die for wronging her. I do hope she actually remains as a big bad and isn't jsut her brother's lackey, I do see them more as a duo, with andrealphus as the schemer with ambitions while stella is the one who acts upon her feelings in the moment.

They just solve all problem by making her charactor as cheap stupid trash. But it dosent really line up with season 1.. + they do this for give stolas reason to cheating. Try to make it good things. .... But its still not. Cheating is wrong bc of how it affect around. Its still problematic behave. I just really hate this as plot abd now for moral. How on earth do people think anyone failed Stella she was meant to evil for the sake of evil that is the perfect villain if that's a fail then there's no such thing as good writing. she a privileged unapologetic princess from hell and is perfectly written as such. This video is such a face palm I can't even process it. We need more villains that are villains for the sake of evil heck media is overly saturated with redeemable or justified villains that when we get a true villain its refreshing. One of my favorite quotes summarizes my viewpoint here, "before all the motivation and spandex there was the simple villain one of his favorite things was to tie his victims to rail road tracks" red death from venture bros put it sweetly but evil used to be evil you didn't need to sympathetic or have a justified motive because your actions where what spoke for you. Stella perfectly fits that she doesn't need to be smart or sympathetic she's a bad b-i-t-c-h born from money and loves doing whatever she wants because at the end of the day it's what makes her happy. If she wants to step on an imp for looking at her too long shell make an imp puddle with glee and thats absolutely perfect.

Then I ask you this. Why is she put into this position of expected sympathy? Stella, and Stolas were forced into a loveless marriage. Forced to produce an heir within their teenage years. Both of them come from families that neglected them, and treated them like tools to be pawned off for their own gain. Stella's character is not built for the hate sink, or pure evil role. Because a hate sink villain has no sympathetic or redeeming qualities. They have only their qualities of corruption that have ruined them as people. Pure evil is one who develops it naturally as they live... not from childhood. That blame is upon the caregivers, not the one's receiving the care. It is harder to make a pure evil villain work in this setting and plot because of the way that it has been laid out. How am I, as an audience member, going to say that Stella is a pure evil villain with all the facts assed. Stolas' story garners sympathy from tragedy... why doesn't Stella's? In regards to circumstance, they are remarkably similar. Also... if Stella doesn't need to be powerful or strong in anyway to be a good villain... what power does she hold over Stolas? She's lesser in every way, and her beating and wounding Stolas via striker, makes him look like an idiot. Her actions, unmasked for soo many years, as its implied... never a good moment, never a HUMAN aspect to her, and you were ok with raising your daughter around that?!?! You stayed with this horrible person for 17 years because you wanted Octavia to have a normal life? Stolas what the heck? You have the power, the recourses, the tools to leave! You said it yourself!!! The Goetia family only wanted a heir! Not for you to stay together!! You have shown very little response to Stella's abuse and you're bounds stronger than her!!! This society doesn't care what the heck you do to her as long as you don't kill her. Why didn't you just leave and give her the bird? Was it possibly the fact that Stella might've been a more cooperative individual in the past, someone that you worked with to keep your little family going? Doesn't that make more sense? To fuel your denial till the very end. Because there is a fine line between a victim, and an idiot. If Stella has always been like this, as it's implied, Stolas is a slave to his own mind rather than Stella's own... she's just an opportunist.

I think there's a fundamental lack of understanding about this whole situation. ALL of these characters are DEMONS - terrible, heinous entities that are mad out of malice and sin! The fact that the main characters exhibit some sort of singular drops of redemptive behavior is the exception! That is why they are the focus of the story. In that regard Stella is not secondary but even third lane character. You can not invest in every character possible and the vast majority of them are supposed to be beyond redemption of any sort.
