NOTE FROM TED: We've flagged this talk, which was filmed at a TEDx event, because it appears to fall outside TEDx's curatorial guidelines. This talk only represents the speaker's personal views and experiences with horses. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/t...
Horses are part of our human story of civilisation. Now, no longer required to serve us in war, they are emerging as wise ambassadors for peace of mind and well-being. Belinda is fascinated by the power of horses to transform human lives and, in her talk, shares her own story of how horses help humans to heal. Belinda is Director of Horsemanship for Health UK, and a writer,
teacher of philosophy, and social entrepreneur who lives and works in
South Devon. Her lifelong love for horses began when she was twelve
years old, when she also started writing. Belinda is fascinated by the
power of horses to transform human lives on many different levels and
is writing a philosophical memoir about her life and work. The team at
Horsemanship for Health work in collaboration with NHS health and
wellbeing partners in designing and delivering innovative projects that
promote emotional resilience, self-understanding and independence. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I had a similar experience, I asked my horse to also call on the angels to help us find a better yard. In 1 week, I found thee best yard I have every been to. We are still there 3 years layer. The grooms are such compassionate and caring grooms, the stable manager is also a very kind person, my horse has put on weight, his hooves have been treated and all who know my horse say hes such a patient sweet boy. Yes I believe horses have a very big connection with God and they certainly help us if we ask.

Well done Belinda, finally someone would mention "higher consciousness" instead of reverting to natural science which is completely at odds with underlying phenomena. At last!

I found this site because I am trying to find something positive about helping humans because it does not feel good. GOD put me on this earth to care for animals, nature and my fellow humans. Well..... I will help a child animal or nature but adults are greedy and each time I help I feel pain. So I ask GOD for an answer because I know he rewards but it does not feel good. So I am not sure I will extend a hand. Maybe I should spend time with horses to see if I can heal from this.
