This came across my feed even though it's old. Yes, I have myself in a little pickle with credit card debt. 1. I way underestimated the cost of my move, and 2. I didn't save enough for my move because I was buying like crazy in 2022. I've only bought two bags this year (the Side Trunk and an Aspinal on sale). It's so easy to get so caught up in this. This was helpful. Luckily, my credit card debt isn't huge so it should be gone within a year without eating Ramen, but I could see it so easily getting out of hand.

I appreciate your honesty in how you’ve acquired your bags and the credit card debt. I used to be in deep credit card debt myself, many years ago. And it took me many years to dig myself out of it. It’s all paid off but I’m still affected by it. I don’t have as much saved for retirement as I would like. But I’m grateful that my bonehead younger self did start putting away something. 😊 I probably wouldn’t have been in the same job for 30 years if it weren’t for the debt. But now it feels more like a choice than while I was paying it off. I cash flow everything these days but through savings. I can’t side hustle.

I didn’t really take the time to tell about saving for retirement but I do through my work and we save into a retirement account for the husband. BUT!!! I have appreciated the honesty. As always. You are a class act. I use credit cards twice a year to get two bags my husband finances the rest. I’m not embarrassed to say this because I’m honest. So many you tubers either won’t mention or skate around the truth or feel they don’t need to mention it. It helps them to be more relatable. The two on KZbin that spend the most have wealthy husbands and that ok just be real. Now they are working with many companies so I’m sure they are buying there own but I have a hard time with people that aren’t authentic. Love you girl.

I like luxury bags...but I am also frugal. I love vintage, so I make the vintage work for me. I've only been collecting for 3 to 5 years. I got my only LV bag--an Epi Leather Saint Jacques--from a Japanese reseller off Ebay. I managed to "work" that auction just perfectly, so I got it for $111.00. I got my 2nd piece only a few weeks ago...an Epi Leather Pochette Assessoire. Then, last week, I scored a Fendi Spy Bag...also from a Japanese reseller. It needs some "odor control" but I'm working on that, and assembling a handbag care kit.

Thanks for your story it is very real. I think once we admit we have a buying problem then we can scale back to our own buying budget, I have been in big CC debt and it is a very painful process to pay it off. So a $1000 on a credit card is my person max. That can be paid of quickly. My wants are changing drastically. I used to be only a hobo gal, now I like lighter smaller, longer straps on my bags. I sell the unwanted and buy new. But with the prices even on preloved up so much I can't afford much. I have recently bought some lower end brands, like Longchamp and Valentino by Mario and they are great quality and fit my life style better. Love you videos. Thanks

I liked your honesty about how you buy bags , I purchased my first Chanel back in the early 90s , I paid cash for it I have always been lucky to have an upper class income . I had to retire back in 2004 because of my health , I retired from nursing . My husband and I started paying off everything from the two cars and the house, we did have one credit card and hardly ever used it . I have always tried to encourage people not to charge anything like a high end handbags . keep it for emergencies only. We down sized to a smaller home saved a lot of money . He retired last year and we are doing good , So the two retirement checks I get a month some goes into savings, and the rest is play money . Half of my handbags I get from fashionphile I'm the queen of preloved lol been with them almost 7 years . I have two handbags LV's on reserve right now lol. But I do have LV, Chanel and so on that I purchased brand-new. I just tell people to be sensible about buying high-end stuff .

I work hard too. In addition to my regular teaching job, I tutor senior students in my own time. Although I'm over the 1k subbies, I'm not monetised yet bc I haven't reached the 4k hours/year, so youtube doesn't pay me yet. I also try to sell, but it's hard bc I buy what I like. I also thrift and resell. I use a Shopback app too to help me save on certain online purchases. All of those earnings and savings go into a separate account, and any luxe purchase is made from that account. If its empty, then too bad! Xx

But wait - you have vintage Barbies???? 🤩🤩🤩. I collect Barbies! I haven’t been active recently, but mine are on display. Oooh, now I am tempted!!! I sell on eBay too, not as a reseller of new bags but I will thrift for any kind of vintage and sell it if it’s good. I need to get back into it. It’s fun and a great way to find money. Thank you for your honesty! I have a feeling that quite a few KZbinrs that are in a niche that involves higher ticket items struggle with credit card debt. But of course, hardly anyone would want to admit that. I’m a huge fan of selling (mostly non-luxury) stuff online. So far, I’ve only done it with my own items that I no longer use or wear because I don’t have the time to go thrifting, but even that has left me with a good chunk of extra cash if you add it all up. Thank you for your transparency. I really appreciate your honesty. I have gotten into credit card debt in the past and it was hard to dig myself out of the hole. I still make monthly payments to pay it off. Now I use klarna instead of credit cards because it works better for me and I like the limits on purchases that klarna sets…they won’t let you get like a Lady Dior because they have limits and I like that. I also like getting the klarna points for Starbucks. I like fashionphile reserve too. For 2022 I am trying to do a low buy year and limit myself to just one luxury wishlist item to get at the end of 2022. And I may or may not be motivated to save for it so if I don’t, I just won’t get it. I am going to stick with contemporary bags this year and I am okay with that….you know I noticed TB prices have gone up so much so what I am going to do is stick with Coach and Longchamp sales. I’m also trying to save up for a road trip this summer so that is my priority. I need a vacation. Please sing next time 💜

I always tell myself also and what i have learned it doesn't matter what you can afford or buy as long as your doing your work and you earn from it and not stamping on others , that's important where and how you got the money for buying your luxury things is no one's business. Work hard do partime extra income jobs and save up so you can buy what u like and besides its a investment since the prices are getting higher. 🥰

Girl I can afford one purchase a month. It’s literally an addiction for me. I get sweaty hands and all when I purchase new bags. I only do one buy a month so I don’t have to use credit cards. Sometimes I feel poor compared to the rest of the community but Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Yes! I like to use Resolene a lot better. It’s clear but gives a super shiny finish. Edge kote is so hard to apply. I use a fine tip cotton swab and roll it on the edge. Then use heat to finish and dry. I hope that helps! Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
