Huh? Spargo got upset and got 49th. Dabuz lost to Acola, the guy who lost the two most important super major in grand finals in DOMINATING fashion. He also plays Steve, the only character since smash 4 Bayo to carry two kids to super major wins, and like those other kids can't play nearly on the same level with any other character. Must be an honest mistake but just setting the record straight

When people bring up ban steve talk they forget to mention the fact that Acola is very good, good enough to best riddles on a kazuya mirror, but he wouldn't be able to win shit so easily without his broken ass dlc character, as a comparison MKleo dominated just fine pre-joker

He was literally first online in Japan with Luigi the season before Switching to Steve ; which had Shuton, Protobanham, Gackt, Ken, Miya, ... The only reason you don't know about Acola before Steve is because he didn't do any offline tournament

​@@astorakino829 Alright, let's start this of by establishing that online results have never been considered a good metric for player skill. Scend would be no.1 or 2 if online translated to offline. On top of that, smashmate isn't even tournament play but rather glorified friendlies. The only real metric for if he can play other characters is if he plays them offline for entire sets and can win super majors like he does with Steve Could you give a source for Acola getting a no.1 without using Steve? As far as I can tell there are no character logs for smashmate's season rankings. Not on the site itself and neither in the video about the rankings history. Acola only started getting notable placings, top 50 placements, 2-3 months after Steve's release. There is nothing that indicates he primarily used other characters to get those rankings. We also know that when he does go Aegis or DK, he gets absolutely destroyed. He went Aegis on a local in golden week (May) which had a small portion of the Kagaribi top players entering including Americans. Acola didn't even get top 8, it didn't count towards rankings btw. Make no mistake, we absolutely KNOW this guy can't nearly play on the same level with any other character besides Steve.

That’s a very interesting statement he made at the end . As someone who started playing Street Fighter & then got into Smash, I think SF made the transition of understanding SSBU much easier since it’s nothing but fundamentals

The Steve hate is entirely justified. He is the only character since smash 4 Bayo to carry two kids to super major wins, and like those other kids in smash 4 (Lima/Zack) can't play even close to the same level with any other character. Both have a pattern of carrying players in the highest echelon of competitive play (top 50 PGR area), allowing unknown players to rise up out of nowhere and get upsets Dabuz mentality is still commendable but he has every right to complain and so do players that do complain, that character is by far the best in the game and looking at the numbers backs that up
