Thanks! Ya this is a big thing to know how to do when your animating with cutout rigs. Some rigs make it easier to do this and some its alittle more difficult. I guess the more rigs you have experience with will help alot too.

quick tip: love the tutorials but what would really help would be a on screen tool that shows what keys you are pressing/ what shortcuts you are using. nevertheless amazing job!

@@fabio_gioffre keyviz is one that comes to mind, btw while im here do you mind if i ask a question, how do i move certain parts of the character forward or back in a composition, like i want on legs for example to be behind a table while the other is infront. anyways great video!
@fabio_gioffre
@fabio_gioffre Жыл бұрын
@@aharonhovsepyan6012 ah ok i'll look into that. I can even make a full video on all the shortcuts I use. And the way to do that is you hold the 'alt' key and press the up arrow to send pieces backwards and the down key to send pieces forwards. that is the best way because it nudges the pieces in extremely small increments so things don't get messed up.

may i ask one more question, when working with rigs how do you jump to that specific part in the timeline, so i dont have to endlessly scroll down and look for wich part is selected when animating. hope you understand, thanks in advance!@@fabio_gioffre

There is no arc or blink on the turn? the head sort of just rotates? and there is no anticipation? Remember you need to exaggerate certain breakdowns for the actions to read properly. That head tilt doesn't read at all there. It looks nice, but blink on the turn for sure. You'll get revisions back otherwise.

the rig itself has a few problems where when I follow the tutorial to a T, there are places where layers were locked previously so I could not Create Keyframes on 2s and had to go into the layers to unlock them... Also some assets disappear when I create key frames on 2s, not sure why that's happening. Other than that, the tutorial and rig are excellent
@fabio_gioffre
@fabio_gioffre Жыл бұрын
Hi thanks so much for watching! and ahh so once the layers were unlocked you were able to convert everything to twos? Also the assets may disappear because in toonboom when you convert things to 2s (using the tool in the timeline) toonboom sometimes moves things forwards or back in zdepth. So they may just be pushed back in zdepth. I'm not really sure why the program does it though lol.

Love the video!! Thank you so much!! A question… What is a Master Shadow layer and how do you create it? how does it work with the onion skin? Thanks!!
@fabio_gioffre
@fabio_gioffre 2 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for watching. And the master shadow layer is just a way to organize your pegs/hierarchies. So in this case that peg controls the whole character and the shadow. And ya it should show up on the pinion skin when you are on the layer. Let me know if this doesn't make sense and I can make a quick video
