I really needed to find this last fall. It would have helped me immensely as an English Major. I appreciate this video with academic annotation tips. I will be using these from now forward.

This was amazing. I have been searching all the youtubes trying to find an annotating video that I could connect to. Thank you so much. Maybe I just needed justification to just randomly write down thoughts in my books instead of overthinking it. You lipstick is on fire! I am so happy I subscribed to you.

Morgan B I’m so happy this could help you! It’s always difficult finding what works for you especially with something as personal as annotations.

Honestly want to grab some arrow ones when I run out of my "expression" tabs. Pastel/ight and large sticky notes really sounds like a good shout! 150% agree on mildliners absolutely love them. The Stabilo kind of run through the page a lot but I think maybe using them swiftly helps? I really enjoyed the academic portion as a fellow english major! I really liked the stickynotes on passages to get the gist as it's so useful for essays. I defo learned a lot about your process and I think those aspects will defo affect my reading experience.

ThePsychoNyx The stabilo do bleed a bit more, but as long as it’s not left sitting I don’t have too big of an issue unless it’s really thin paper. I love the mildliners! I just wish I didn’t run through them so fast, because their formula is 💯 I can’t wait for when you post an annotation video!

Thank you thank you thank you for posting this! I've been watching a ton of annotations videos and yours is the first I can fully get behind. Easy to follow, not overly done, and great tips. Where were you when I was in school!? Lol anyway, thank you so much!🖤💚🖤💚🖤

I’m so happy this could help you! If something is too complicated or the effort doesn’t outweigh the rewards, I can’t sustain it. So trial and error helped me figure out an annotation system that is simple and manageable and only slightly slows down my reading.

I just bought those zebra pastel highlighters ; p I love annotating. It’s so much fun! I highlight, underline passages and write in the book (not all of them though) but it’s like you’re interacting with the author, or the characters! It’s great!

This is awesome! Thank you :) I just recently bought supplies and set up a key to annotate books for fun but I haven't had the courage to start yet 😂

Elizabeth Mackay it’s so hard to start, but I promise once you get going and you not only initiate but get a feel for what you like, it becomes so much easier because you realize how much it adds to your reading experience.

Not only is this A good video but it also included an indirect book recommendation. Time to add "The Witch Hunt in Early Modern Europe" my TBR.

I've never been the most consistent with color coding methods either - now I've found I have a general framework but it changes slightly each time depending on the book itself. Never thought to make a key though - normally I just know the same colors are similar categories and can figure it out when flipping back through the book.
@LittleRedReader

I definitely think you always need to tailor it to the book and your reasons for annotating. Like if I know I’ll need to flip to different parts for different reasons, I’ll make a key. If it’s something I want to color code and tab but might not necessarily foresee me flipping to it often, I get lazy and don’t make a key and hope future me figures it out. 😂
