If you aplied for masters then 5 weeks, for bachelors 12 weeks, yes you can write them emails once the waiting period has passed away.

@@chinaemelumfrancis2551 For interview, embassy was ok with travel health insurance, but after approval for visa stamping they gave a list of expat health insurance providers. So I contacted each one of these providers and joined one.

Well this depends on what you want, if you want to study than sure it's good, but if you want to come to Germany for work, than you can consider Job Search visa too, but finding a job in Marketing without German Language would be a challenge. So study seems a better option for you but at the end you need to decide what you want.
