So, another method to do it yourself which I find easier is to part your hair as she does in the beginning, then instead of parting a small piece to stick your tape too, you just place your top piece of tape onto your hair an press down. you can now lift the extension piece gently, which will also lift your own hair, and place the bottom piece of the sandwich below. I find this far less fiddly and it ensures you have the right amount of hair stuck to the tape :)
@Bitchcraft_764 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip. Very smart
@labornurse3 жыл бұрын
This is the way.
@tovah70553 жыл бұрын
THAT is EXACTLY how I do it and you are spot on with how it grabs the right amount of hair and far less “fiddly”, the ONLY thing I warn friends about is that the direction when you place the second tape to make that “sandwich” watch the direction of your hair when you place the 2nd sandwich piece so that the application of the 2nd piece, your hair is not sticking at an odd angle. All my Live and Learn le$$son$ so you don’t have to suffer out of your wallet so I’ve done it for you LOL! Ahhhh…with age comes wisdom…..I think? 🥴

Ive just ordered myself 2 sets of balayage tape ins from Amazon, and you have no idea what your wonderful, down to earth, easy to follow tutorial has done for me. I was planning on saving up to pay someone to install them, but no! I am going to do it myself. The reason this is such a big thing to me is because I have Huntington's Disease, so installing my own extensions seemed like the unachievable because of the H.D movements. But after watching your simple, unfussy, no-frills demonstration, I just KNOW I can do this! Even if it means doing maybe just one row, or even half a row while my hands are steady, then waiting until they are steady again, I know I CAN DO IT!! This is the first time I've watched an upload of yours, I have liked and subscribed and am off to look for more of your vids right now. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for giving me something that I so often lack... Self Belief

I use an eyelash brush to brush over just a bit of hair onto the tape. This is a GREAT tool whilst doing this on your own. It helps to get just enough “thin” layer of hair into the tape. I also tap my tape with warm iron then clasp the two pieces with an alligator Clip for a few moments. Great vid

Juliette, this is the best video on diy tape extensions!! I just did my 2nd installation a week ago since the salons were still closed back in May, and I have to say out of all the videos I have watched yours is by far the best! So easy to follow, and informative, also so relatable for me because I have very simillar textured hair (thin). Thanks again, and keep up the good work! I will continue to do my own because it really is a money saver, and my hair looks great!👍😊❤

Such a great video, thanks! I'm considering doing it myself but I'm wondering how you retape the sections. When you remove the tape after taking them out, does the hair come apart as lose strands or are the sections somehow stitched together or something? Also how do you make sure all the solvent is out of the hair before retaping them? Haha - it's a bit hard to describe but I hope you know what I mean.

BLEACHED MY ZALA HAIR EXTENSIONS AND PONYTAILS ! This is my story I bought my first ZALA hair in February I bought two ponytails and they still look good! I get compliments all the time on my hair but I’m about to purchase some more. I wear them to work almost every day and they look gorgeous I don’t have to worry about doing my hair before work. That usually takes me an hour just to do my hair and now I just put my ponytail in and it looks amazing for work. I got a Kreatine 1 and The other was the real hair one Honestly both of them held up even after me getting gutsy bleaching them with The PLATINUM HAIR BLEACH kit…I put in both of my ponytail. I bleached both of them to make them even more blonde . The damage of the hair was not too bad at all! I revived the hair afterwards by Putting the mask on the extensions afterwards Then I towel dried it very well, put the reviver on hair I finger combed through the hair, Set an on a towel overnight *I did not blow dry or put a hot iron onto hair tell it was dry the next day. The next day I brushed them Put a little bit of heat from the blow dryer into them, I put low heat on the hair to see how it would react and both came out very smooth and blond. I try really hard not to blowdry my extensions if I don’t have too. This hair Is great with heat but you don’t even need much heat for these extensions to look like you want. BTW The curls stay the whole day I love ZALA HAIR & After Pay!

You definitely should give it a go Bhavi! You could always put more extensions wherever you wanted. You have beautiful hair so could definitely put some up the top! Hi Hayley! Hi, I took my tape in extensions out after wearing them for 5 weeks since instal. I found them difficult to remove and my hair was so tangled that I feel like I lost so much of my own hair trying to get the tangles out. I loved them and wondering what I did wrong. I would love to reinstall them but I am learning and wondered why they were so tangled. Especially being stuck at home with the Covid I wore them in a pony most the time.
@jenh63904 жыл бұрын
I'm about to try tape ins too and this is what I've learned so far; 1. Always, always dry your hair well before sleeping and braid it or put it in a loose ponytail. Always wear a swimming cap when swimming in a pool because chlorine is *bad*. Keep hair tied when swimming in salt water to avoid tangles. 2. Brush your hair thoroughly with a tangle teezer or a brush specifically meant for hair extensions at least twice a day. 3. Use sulfate, alcohol free hair products including your shampoo, dry shampoo etc. Basically go as natural as you can because these chemicals are harsh and will dry out your hair extensions causing more tangles. They will also loosen up the tapes and make them fall out faster. 4. Condition the lengths of your hair, avoiding your scalp where the tapes are. Again, the drier the more tangles. Invest in a good conditioner and use it all the time. 5. Change your technique of washing hair. You need to be gentle and avoid moving your hair around too much. Sometimes you can't avoid it. If you do begin to see hair tangling or matting, it's better to just go to a hair dresser, get it corrected professionally.
@thebellanextdoor4 жыл бұрын
@@jenh6390 Followed all of this and since I've been home alone during quarantine I wore these in a pony and/or tied up in a bun. In the 5 weeks I had them in I only washed my hair maybe 5-6 times just because I've been stuck home with no place to go. However when I did wash them I did gently use my fingers between the sections with shampoo to try to clean them. Is that a no no? Should I only be using shampoo at the roots on the top section where there are no tape ins? Thanks in advance.
@misslynnification4 жыл бұрын
Make sure you're using a sulfate free shampoo. Once I switched the tangles and dry hair stopped! I've used tape ins now for about 2 years ...love them!

I'm back again after a month of tape in hair extensions and I'm having the same issue. I got really busy and lazy for two weeks or so when it comes to haircare and didn't brush the roots well so they're all tangled now. I focused too much on the lengths of my hair and that's my mistake right there. Yikes.

My tape ins last about 6 to 7 weeks. To take them out, I dip a q tip in the glue remover solution and rub this lightly over the seams and then separate the hair pieces and they slide right off. I put these pieces in a shoe bin and let them dry out for about a week. I then scrape any glue residue off each piece either with my fingers or tweezers or both. After this is done , I put them back in the shoe bin , add water and a clarifying shampoo. I use alternate action by matrix. I let these soak for a few days. I then take a few pieces out , maybe 5, holding then together while rinsing. I add conditioner and then rinse again. I then lay them out on a towel. When all are laid out , I comb them out and let them dry. Once dry , I remove any leftover glue from the pieces , and then add new tape. Very easy...🙂

@BeingMrsDudley5 жыл бұрын
Good question Louise, and rightly so! It’s a lot of money and a difficult decision to make as I remember being in that position, so, if I remember right, There are a couple of things you can do. 1. Zala offer a free colour matching service, where you send them photos and fill in a few details and then they tell you what colour to have 2. They sell a colour chart wheel but I think this is £8.99 so maybe not the cheapest option. 3. I am almost 100% sure that if you order hair you can check the colour and if it’s not right, you can return it as long as it’s not out the security tag. I’m sure there is lots of information on the website too and I think they even have a you tube channel. I hope this helps! Thank you so much for watching lovely ❤️ xxxx

Hi sweety... really informative video 😍 These look amazing, so much easier if you can get used to them...they look so natural I understand they are expensive but you get what you pay for, luckily my hair is long, it is fine but I’ve been growing it for a couple of years .. time to cut it now.. it bloody strangles me in bed 😂😂 Thank you for sharing Sending love & hugs 😘😘😘xxx

Thank you Cristina! Yes you are very lucky! My hair is not only thin it never grows past a certain length which is so frustrating as I had beautiful long hair as a child. You’re very welcome! Thank you for watching! Ps I subscribed 😉. Will have to catch up on more of your videos, you sound like you may be local? ❤️ xxxx

Juliette have you tried the caffeine shampoo and conditioner... it really worked for me, I only brought the one from savers... I wanted longer hair for our wedding day... it grew really quickly, it didn’t improve the thickness but length yes 💖💖💖xxx

you're so cute and helpful, but holy cow don't try to brush the glue out, just work the solvent in there!

To pay a professional 250 to put them in, is paying for their product and time. They don’t work for free unfortunately. I’m happy your hair is fine enough that it’s easy for you to do. Other people might struggle and end up with a really bad situation, I recommend going to a professional for optimal results.
