ChatGPT Prompts I have used:
1. Write Script prompt:
You are to write a podcast script from the article posted. It should be a monologue in news style format in 3rd person (talking about the story from a journalistic perspective). It should be only three sentences maximum, short and to the point. Don't include any websites in the script. No introduction and no outro. No notes in brackets or any directions. ONLY THE SCRIPT.
2. Write Title prompt:
Create a short podcast title based on the news stories in this content. Include company names where possible. Don't surround the title with quotes. Use absolutely NO quotation marks.
3. Write Description prompt:
Create a short podcast description based on the content. Include short summaries on each news story included without going into detail. The podcast is called "AI News Today". Don't surround it with quotes.

Thanks, so glad you nearly got this to work. Here’s the syntax code I used to get the day as you mentioned. Great Video Mike, Just having issues with the Google Documents Query. The formatDate doesn't seem to work.
@MikeRussell
@MikeRussell 9 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! In your Google Documents Query formula make sure the formatDate is correctly formatted using the correct syntax and date parameters. This is exactly what I’m using: {{formatDate(now; "YYYY")}}{{formatDate(now; "MM")}}{{formatDate(now; "DD")}} You could also add a day to the date created if you want to create tomorrow’s podcast the day before (as I have started doing) and in that case this syntax would work: {{formatDate(addDays(now; 1); "YYYY")}}{{formatDate(addDays(now; 1); "MM")}}{{formatDate(addDays(now; 1); "DD")}}
@nextgenpodcaster
@nextgenpodcaster 3 ай бұрын
I tried this and ran into the same thing. The issue is likely that your "now" variable isn't showing up as a variable. If "now" isnt' showing up in a little blue box, it's not going to run correctly.

Sad to hear you don’t have GPT-4 in your API. I thought everyone had it by now. Perhaps something to take up with OpenAI. I’m using GPT-4 but I don’t see why it couldn’t work well with GPT-3.5 Turbo. This model is really good at summarisation so all should be fine and there’s even an argument for this over my present model as it’ll be cheaper to run too 😉 Give it a go. Let me know how it goes!

You had me until you said Soundcloud. I'll have to see how to integrate with Libsyn (maybe FTP?) or buzz sprout, Captivate, etv.
@MikeRussell
@MikeRussell 9 ай бұрын
Absolutely! Integrating with Libsyn will be easy using the FTP module. I just started playing with FTP on Libsyn myself and think I’m going to make a future update about this. I’m gonna ask you for help if I get stuck! 🤓 Buzzsprout is tricky as it only has API (no FTP) so more low-code than no-code, Captivate I couldn’t find FTP or API. SoundCloud was the only podcast “host” (and I use that term lightly) 😉 that was included in Make with no extra steps. I can certainly create a future tutorial and walk through the process for Libsyn. Great idea!

Uploading the MP3 audio via FTP to Libsyn works, but it goes without the ID3 tags so no title, no description and no cover art.

@MikeRussell
@MikeRussell 9 ай бұрын
You’d use this formating to get the date read out instead of numbers: {{formatDate(addDays(now; 1); "dddd")}} the {{formatDate(addDays(now; 1); "Do")}} of {{formatDate(addDays(now; 1); "MMMM")}} {{formatDate(addDays(now; 1); "YYYY")}} Then as for appending and not creating a new document use “Insert a Paragraph into a Document” in the Google Docs intergratino.

Only issue I ran into was when I tested the second scenario, it doesn't want to grab the latest script uploaded/created. It keeps grabbing an older file in that folder. Does this run differently when the automation is turned out? Or how are you getting it to pull the last created file?
@nextgenpodcaster
@nextgenpodcaster 3 ай бұрын
The other option I was thinking would be to add one more step where Make moves the script to a completed folder in drive after the episode has been generated.

When the automation is turned on, the script should be pulling the latest file created - ensure that your automated process is set to always fetch the most recently uploaded script.
