This definitely wasn't one of those players who just mindlessly spam, he's actually a decent zoning players, using the ex bullet mix and using the puddle as good cover but It's nice that J4 has some really nice tools vs zoners ESPECIALLY the tp. I played vs a HH player before as Ermes🗿, and let me tell you, one of THE MOST painful matches I've played, was a slow spammy death too, with that 1050 health of hers...

A lot of people write off the TP Jotaro has as garbage since it's very punishable if you see it coming, but it has its uses here and there. Also I've been there lol, I'm the kind of guy to never play characters in ranked if they don't have some form of anti-zone capabilities which is why I love 4Taro so much

@@BannockMeatball Yea a character having good match-up coverage is REALLY important. As a diehard Ghiaccio main, having Gently Weeps does help a fair bit but it costing 1 doesn't feel great as well as the lengthy recovery. Forward double jump is also decent but has some recovery upon landing. So I had to pick up and start maining a few new, more versatile characters like Rizz and that has DRASTICALLY heped cover otherwise very unfavourable match-ups!

ngl, I find it really hard to play defensively sometimes in this game. I'm a complete noob though. Entire matches like this is so helpful in this vein just to see how a good player deals with an actual fight with a human player.

As a Hol horse main hol horse shouldn't be primarily zoning he has a very big opening whenever you do s bullets not saying you shouldn't zone just have a purpose for doing it such as an anti zoning tool or a tool to get in on characters that have good buttons also don't try to zone in disadvantage unless your using s s bullet and use it as a bait so if someone tries to jump over you can control it

Yeah I’ve looked at the Hol Horse channel on the ASBR discord and saw people saying similar things. He’s the best Anti-Zoner zoner in the game who has some good mixups and control tools if you use them right. The opponent I played in this video didn’t really use them to the best of his ability, but I can imagine a Hol Horse player playing near perfect would be almost unbeatable

I think Valentine 214x is a decent anti zone and might work against Hol Horse, but I don’t actually know if that’s a real statement or if I’m making that up. Theoretically if all the corpse parts had favourable spawns you could just wait and try to get all 3 for love train? Then all you have to do is not lose 😭

Borderline yeah this is the general concept wait till the HH player runs out of hangged man puddles then be aggressive in your approach, until then be passive and have patience.

Keep in mind the date of this video. I’ve learned since then you can just TP into 5L2H and it typically autotimes SG-ing puddle unless Hol player delays it, which they won’t the first few times probably, even if they delay it you still get Oki advantage. If they start backwards bulleting you, go for the jump in and immediately 2H for the same effect. It’s not hard to play around puddle as 4Taro tbh since you’ll always have to initiate unless you’re playing against someone like Madpog who doesn’t just exclusively zone

I’m not even kidding when I say that I’ve probably put 100 hours into this character alone in the lab/online, so I pick up a few things here and there for situations like this lol. 2K damage is a *little* out of my reach but maybe one day I’ll get another 1K damage one on this patch

It gets so much better. You can block hanged man off teleport more consistently now if they’re camping puddle, and you’ll have more time to get your combo going inbetween teleport with reduced cooldown

I mean, I could try, but microdashing is something that is very hard to explain. It’s 100% based on your own personal feeling of the timing. You just have to like, know when to do it after certain moves, and I can’t really explain it better than that, so a video wouldn’t not be much better

He doesn’t have really good defensive capabilities, a lot of his attacks have long start ups. Stay close enough to avoid him using baring shots, far enough to react to barrages.

4Taro has bad Oki, and a lot of his moves are punishable if they whiff (command grab, TP, DP and bearings come to mind). If you keep pressure up against 4Taro, there’s not a lot of counter play they can do. I’ve been on the receiving end of one sided games like that where I just get demolished by someone with insane pressure and mixups, so just try to do some of that next time you play a Part 4 Jotaro
