Hey man, don't know if you'll see this comment, but I went to the IAHA in Vancouver, Washington, same as you did and I feel I should mention something. The steam locomotive artwork on the wall at 5:02 is actually MY artwork. Never thought I'd see my own work on a KZbin video, but here we are. Here's the story. I went to IAHA between 2015-'16 as part of their rail program. The artwork was a piece I started in high school around 2009 or so; I completed the upper half around 2010 and added the lower half around 2012-2015; the entire thing was drawn in sections with three rows each then stitched together; it's a blend of pen and colored pencil. When I went to the Academy, people began taking a liking to my artwork and one of the teachers asked to have a version of that piece that they could use at the school. So I scanned the original drawing and cleaned it up, converting it into a poster. I'd also made a series of my classmates' name tags with custom designs on them in black and white; that was also compiled and blown up into a poster which I donated to the school as a gift upon graduation. You may have seen it somewhere in the IAHA building, likely with one of the rail instructors. Truth be told I'd forgotten I made the poster featuring the locomotive drawing, then as soon as I saw it in your video it all came back to me. I remembered the name tag poster, but not the locomotive poster. I still have the original in frame in my bedroom; it's packed away at the moment. You probably never thought twice about anything on the walls there, and honestly neither did I, but it's heartwarming seeing my own work on KZbin in such a random place such as this. Even if it was inadvertent, thanks for giving me a bit of joy in knowing the school still has my work present even if I'm no longer there. It means a lot.

So I already have my Twic, medical cert and MMC. I have entry level endorsements: ordinary seaman, wiper and stewards dept (f.h.). I Spoke with an SIU rep and they said to even apply to SIU I need the basic training and VPDSS endorsements and I’m currently working on getting enrolled to complete those. I wanted to ask what other endorsements would be beneficial for me to get while I’m doing these to get on with SIU? I’m just wanna knock em all out so I submit one time to NMC. Should I get able bodied limited (is there an unlimited? Would that be better), tank ship familiarization, Rating forming nav watch, Marline spike, etc? What’s other endorsements would help? Or give me a bit of an upper hand? My bad about all the questions. I’m just motivated and need some assistance so I can get this done.
@Tr3TV20223 жыл бұрын
My advice would be to get whatever you can .. go get your government vessel.. go get your security clearance .. go get your tankerman … the more you get . The easier it is to get on more ships

@@Tr3TV2022 Where do you go to get those? Bc I don’t see those in particular being offered at the bluewater mariner academy. Also, I thought you had to have a sponsor to get a security clearance, how do you obtain that?
