i like that you can use full up elevator and full rudder in any direction to initiate a stall which you can easily recover from. it's literally just like the movie redtails.

Since you asked for plane recommendations, I would suggest the f4u-4 or the f6f. The dash 4 corsairs (5.3 and 5.7) are both really awesome, fast and maneuverable. The f6f without the canons is also a beast at 3.7.

It’s a decent aircraft, I’ve never placed it with mec (due to the limited space on my Xbox controller) But I have scored 68 kills with it with a K/D of 1.7 If I had mec, I’d imagine I’d be far more competitive Usually I climb to 5Km and dive on enemy fighters 15:04 also, in a straight dogfight, the p-51 will always beat the early 190 and almost always beat the late 190s It can trade altitude or speed for turn rate, and you could have easily had his six with a conventional maneuver

Yeah MEC do help with the engine temp which is nice. You can basically wep all the time if you open up your radiators. Yeah I regret my decision, should've just turn with him. See you in the skies :)

I don't use an xbox controller so I'm afraid I can't help you. But I can help you by telling you which controls I use. One button to open radiators and one to close them. The same with oil radiators, propeller pitch, mixture. And one button to toggle supercharger gear. That is what I use. I wouldn't say MEC is necessary on all planes. I don't use it on the German planes for example. Good luck to you! And see you in the skies!

Awesome! :D My humble request for your next plane is the Mosquito. It may be tricky because it's not necessarily a dogfighter, but it's a really iconic plane and it does have some strengths you can use. If the Mosquito doesn't suit you, then instead I would request its big brother, the Hornet >:D

i absolutely love evening maps. also i found tracer belts to be alot more consistent than the ground target belts for us 50cals

Yeah, evening maps are pretty cool! I used universal belts which may be sub optimal I'm not sure. Gonna try tracers belts!

With some practise you'll get there in no time :) There is no correct settings and sensitivity that fit all planes, so you are on the right track tweaking those. Good luck to you. And see you in game perhaps!

I really like the P-51, I've used it a few times in simulation mode, but I can't "love" its cockpit, what I really prefer is either the F4U Corsair or the Bf-109, there are two cockpits extremely satisfying to look at inside in my opinion.

The Corsair and 109 has decent cockpits too for sure! But their rear visibility is worse for me. And you almost always die from your six! :)

i been thinking about a P51 sims video too last week lol. i suck with most other aircraft on sim. But ive been managing to get a few kills with my P51s on SIM. I got all my sensitivity controls set to 0%. maybe one day ill be good enough to raise them lol.

Yeah, the P-51C is crazy at 4.0. The C version is actually very stable compared to the D version which makes it a joy to fly :)

i use it on deflection shots in arb for againt bot bombers its pretys atisfying because the sight is correct 80% of the timeif you only just pitch up in a straight line

Thanks man! Yeah try the D versions and if that doesn't you should take a look at the P-51C which is crazy good at 4.0. I use 250m gun covergence. In this video I used universal belts but I've heard ground targets or tracer belts might be better. I don't use vertical targeting. I haven't really tried it.

I used 250m with VT and tracers. got 4 kills the second time i tookoff (on my first takeoff i killed a bomber but he also killed me near my airfield haha). Im excited to unlock the d30 since it is even better than the d5

Hey man that's awesome! I would say the P-51D-5 definitely is one of the harder planes to fly so you're doing great. The D-30 is in my opinion a huge step up in performance. I feel like that plane probably should be in BR 6.0. Have fun unlocking it :) see you around!

Hey man, I'm glad you enjoy my videos! I'm sorry I don't really know anyone showing their settings. You see it it is basically only 3 axis settings and their sensitivity that is important when flying with a stick. I have the elevator sensitivity turned down to the lowest and the aileron and rudder to the highest sensitivity. I also use a slight S-curve for all the axis. I suggest going into test flight and try out what feels best. Also, I use different elevator settings when flying for example spitfires and Bf109s. I hope this helps a little, at least. Again I strongly suggest you go into test flight and find out which settings works best for you. One plane at a time.

I did see that it is possible to save settings for each plane in Xbox so that’s already one plus that I don’t have to adjust every time I fly another plane. I did also hear people talking the same what you said about 3 important settings so I will dive deeper in that. Can you explain what you mean with the S-curve with the axis ? @holeekow1766 no problem at all! Ill try to explain. The S-curve can make your fine adjustments smoother as your input near the center of the joysticks zero input position is lowered while the input at is more and more exaggerated the more you are pulling back on the stick following an S-curve. I think it's easier if you see an image of the concept lol. And about the Rasmussen. Is it a premium plane, totally forgot!

I use virpil constellation alpha. I wouldn't say that it is only the joystick that makes me fly smoothly, even though it is a quality stick. I think an even bigger factor is experience, hours spent flying basically. You can achieve the same and better results with cheaper gear for sure :)

Dear People of the Comment Section! Please Help! Whenever i dive in any plane in sim battles and try to pull out of the dive, the plane twitches and eventually ends up in a flatspin or generally becomes uncontrollable. Why does that happen and how do i avoid it?

You are pulling too hard. If you have to pull that hard, then you have exited the dive too late. Also, take a look at your elevator sensitivity settings and maybe reduce them a bit. Hope this helps :)

War thunder does a terrible job recognizing what WEP is, it's your pilot OVERSPEEDING the engine and destroying the internals. Also your straight line speed was over 150kph faster than my D-13 at a similar battle rating. Why the late mustangs aren't 6.3 I do not know. And by that I mean the last 3 mustangs, which are undertiered.

Yeah the P-51D mustangs are pretty good. Luckily they are a pain to aim with. If they were more stable they would be unstoppable!
