Rarely do I watch videos in entirety but man this was an extremely well put together video! Stuff like this should be getting viral on KZbin telling the young kids who want to get involved in racing that they can do it!

First, as a guy who would really love to have an opportunity like this, I admit I am jealous. Second, David, that was a good job of driving! Third, this was great story telling. You have a great future ahead of you as a story teller, whether or not you have a race driving career of any length.

Peter West has been around about 100 years. I’ve been racing FF since 1997 in N. California and I’ve been to Button a few times but supporting a friend. That car you had was sweet. Surprised I’ve nog heard of the owner. FV is a great starting place and virtually every F1 and Indycar driver has been in them early on. Pageneau even got in one after his Indycar career had begun. He did’t win either. Danica and Newgarden both went to England for FF driving. The counter intuitive thing about driving these is if you get into a corner a little hotter than you feel comfy with and lift the ass will come around for sure. The weight comes of the tires and you are backwards. Look up Brad Hayes Racing. He used to live in Ca. but is now somewhere around Indy and has a Piper FF he rents as well as a midget. Real nice guy.

Congratulations. I remember my first open wheel modified race, high bank dirt track at Haubstadt in SW Indiana. The noise, the smell, the feel of the horsepower when it would get a good bite. getting blasted by pellets of clay when passed (which happened frequently in that first event) but I crawled out of the car after ten laps and could barely stand up. Thought "how do they do this for 200 laps at Indy or Daytona". Have felt adrenalin many times in my life, but never, ever greater than in that moment. My proudest possession (next to my trophy wife of 44 years) is my 1995 Nascar competitors license. Good going David... btw, if you had used the word "stage" for that break in the final test segment, I would have exited. Always enjoy your commentaries, you'll have to go a long way to exceed the enjoyment I got from this one though.

Hey David. Great video. I would recommend trying out the Champcar world series or the Lucky Dog Racing league. Great racing with a ton of cars. Good track time as well. Not stupid money to get into it or better still, do a seat rental to make sure you like it. Been running in Lucky Dog for 6 years now and I can assure you, its real racing, very competitive and a blast to run.

Very very cool my friend! This gives me a glimmer of hope that maybe someday I'll be able to play amateur racecar driver too. The competive spirit is strong. Good on you for keeping your cool there. I think restarts are the toughest when you're still unsure of your abilities or finding a feel. I've struggled there online for a long time on new tracks. This was a neat watch. Look forward to seeing more content and with that, time to check out antispeed for some more racing fix!

Also, I think this video has the potential to be more of a 'viral' hit but to tickle the sweet-spot of the YT algorithm i think the title should be "HOW I BECAME A RACE CAR DRIVER", in all caps.

David Land if you are reading this then you will do great as a race driver When I showed up to my first Legend Car race on Dec 23, 2017 I was pretty Scared but once I got out on the track I had so much fun in 2018 I won rookie of the year and got 6 wins. last year in 2019 I won the championship with 10 wins, 11 top 10's and I only DNF once at Charlotte Motor speedway. I just got an offer for a World of outlaws ride and my first race is this upcoming sunday. #KeepLivingTheDream

That's interesting for the karting chassis! Did lots of A+D and my first kart was a older 1st Kart. My current kart is a 2015 FA/ Tony Kart. I did better with the older kart! The closest to a car for me was a ride in a pace car on Toronto tracks. Have driven my own car on Montreal GP track!!! Stupid 40kph was the limit. 1/2 the track for pedestrians and bicyclists 😞 This should have been 10th year karting at Mosport. In all that time have only seen turn 8 and pits.
