I'm just starting my sneaker head journey. It all started with my dad too, but he's far from a best friend lol I wasn't allowed to own more than one pair of shoes growing up while he, mom, and sibling had 50 pairs each (I used to count them in secret). I remember always wanting shoes and one time my godmother bought me an extra pair as a surprise. I was then grounded and the shoes were thrown away. They were Jordans 8s. From that day I've been waiting until I could start buying and collecting my own. I'm finally there 😌.
