There're so many hungry and homeless people around the world, there're so many infrastructure problems, even in the US, but governments and big companies spend many billions dollars on their space programs, because they want to know a bit more about other galaxies and planets, which are unlivable anyway

Investments in those space technology eventually become available to all people through new products like phones, computers, electric cars etc. It is impossible to feed all people in the world, but it is possible to give them better life with those new technologies once they become available to the society.

I’m an space telescope engineer here in the UK, UK space agency projects, R&D into mechatronic deployment systems for my sins, I studied a mechanical engineering degree and an MSc in astronautics and space engineering, plus worked robotics/automation for years. However in the UK everybody thinks I’m unskilled, a janitor or such like, because the BBC has brainwashed the entire British population into thinking engineering is an unskilled profession. No way in a million years would I entertain the prospect of talking to the BBC about any of the projects I am working on. The BBC is an absolute disgrace and a national embarrassment for its continued undermining of British Engineering and Engineers.

We'll be able to see deeper in to the cosmos and look at god's creations we would never know about otherwise. And once the telescope is no longer useful it will fall back to earth and burn up in the atmosphere.
