Hey man I just had BKA, just got my prosthetic (hurts like hell can’t take a step yet but I’m just supposed to stand 20 min a day). I want to get back to riding, I keep starting my bike up, but how do you control the back brake?

If it's a right BK you have no problem. I learned to drive in the car using the prosthetic for gas and brake and my meat foot for clutch. On the bike I apply that same Thigh movement rather than ankle to the back brake. It takes practice but consider it a new normal.

Thanks for replying bro. That’s great to hear caus I’m tired of driving with the left. Hopefully I can stand to hold weight on this thing soon, only been two days though.

@@MrDickhead47 When I got my first leg I couldn't put much weight on it either, I used crutches for about 4 weeks, then one crutch for a few weeks, and finally a cane before full weight bearing, I know it seems slow but in 10 years you'll hardly remember it.

Hey man hope you’re well. Just had my two week checkup and with my girlfriend and prosthetist I just said F it and took a step on it. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Then took a couple more steps no handrail. Definately going to take your suggestion of the cane. Thanks again man, I was really losing hope thinking I could never walk on the damn thing.

Hey man I can still only stand in this thing for 20 min max. My leg feels like a roll of ground beef and I’m starting to completely lose my will to live. What would you do in this situation? My prosthetist expects me to stand 20 min walk 20 min a day now and I can’t do it.
