The timing of this video is quite strange. I made the decision today to retire my right (dominant) hand and embrace throwing with my left. I’ve practiced off and on all day today and I can already see the improvement. My wife said I should’ve switched a long time ago!! I’ve struggled with dartitis for like, three years now. I can’t wait to hit my first 180 with my left hand. I know it’ll come!!

I did the same couple of weeks ago after seeing D.R had swapped hands and im enjoying playing again, with my right hand I didnt want to carry on playing so thankful I changed

Great video, I have struggled with my right arm for quite some time and recently made the switch to throwing with my left. I feel like I am making some progress with it. Coming across your videos and seeing your progress from the start to now has given me more confidence that I made the right choice. Cheers mate.

Great video Jack, you've come so far in such a short amount of time. I saw you at the south norfolk open and thought you looked better from when I saw you last at Vauxhall's last year. These improvements will always help with darts, especially with stamina. Keep up the good work 👍🏼🎯

A lot of people might have listened to this and been like "oh okay whatever, he's just switched hands" but I find it hard to find the words to describe how hard what you've done is. 20 years doing the same thing, so naturally, and then to change to your weaker hand must have been so tough. Both mentally & physically. Very impressive Jack, keep it up pal

I am 6 months into throwing with my Right hand, I am left-handed but right eye dominant. Going to be the best decision I've ever made in regard to Darts.

Fascinating story I'm playing with my left hand when I play friends that never played at all just to keep it fun. Been thinking about that challenge.. I don't play great with my right hand at all compared with lots of people but love your story. Love your channel BTW. Cheers

tell you what you are mate. Much slimmer. Look much healthier also. Colour of your skin ect. thats 1 bonus in last 9 months.

Great insight to your game,I played county youth back in the day and men’s then the dartisis came.tried everything and like you it was ok for a week or so then back.so I’ve now started left handed,throw is so smooth compared to the right hand version.grip seems to be the hardest thing at the mo but I’ve hit some great scores already.and I’m happier throwing as I’m not putting the expectation on my game .

Battled Dartitis 5 times in last 3 years after 11 years of playing. Recent attack came about 6 months ago and same as yourself I haven’t been able to defeat this bout. Made the same decision to switch to left handed. Now feels more natural as I don’t do anything left handed. Game is slowly improving but seem to be struggling with grip. Any tips please mate ?

In February my right shoulder couldn’t move and hurt like hell because of my work..and I did not want quit play so I threw left handed for 2 months at first it was sjit..but after 3 weeks I started winning against my friends who play right handed..

My brother was like you but he ended up getting dartitis is both arms in the end was a good player too..I believe it was because he was too methodical

Is dartitis something that happens from years of playing? I only ask because I've only been playing darts consistently for about 3 months and I still find my throws being inconsistent. Is this because I'm still new or i am I over thinking things?

i play in a tuesday night league. nothing special just 20 people who turn up every week and do a league, always struggle when i have a beer though, so started just drinking soft drinks when i play. also left handed. I played every day during covid and got quite good, prob touching a 60 average but always went to pot in a match. improved more now i am currently 7th with 4 games left to play so hopefully turned a corner with that. any advice?

Are you generally both-handed? If I try to throw with my weak (left) arm I'm all over the place. I don't even understand how to throw, I don't know how I should stand on the oche. I can't do it because it seems so unnatural to me. I throw right-handed trying to remember and memorize each and every motion I make before and while throwing so I can mirror it throwing with the left arm, and on the next turn throwing left I don't know how to do it. Sometimes it seems to me that I'm extremely right-handed because I can't do even the easiest tasks like holding a dart with the wrong hand.

i don't think your throw looks slow or soft. I like watching the pro's that seemingly put no effort in their throw and still reach the board comfortable like Barney for instance.
