I was born in Livingston in ‘94. Both sets of grandparents came from Glasgow, same with my mum and dad. Moved through during the overspill. Spent most weekends in Glasgow for a lot of years visiting family I still had through there and going to the football with my old man. Can literally understand every single word said by everyone in this documentary 🤣 Walter Norval sounds identical to my auld granda lol. The older generation of Glaswegians had a very particular way of speaking. Much more masculine and very matter of fact, but with a fantastic sense of humour behind the tone. They can tell stories like no one else in the world. No other city like it! 💙🏴

@carson maybe walter didnt want to be heard of? Why would he? There isnt that many rich gangsters that didnt even want there photo even taken? Tam mcgraw was like that and he was worth at least 20 million. So to was arthur thompson. Mcgraw wrote a book becouse of what was being said about him for years. And strangely enough he didnt even mention paul ferris once? And it was a great read. So was vendetta by paul ferris, thats the best i have read out of all pauls books, i couldnt put it down. Paul spoke about mcgraw for about half of the book. And tc campbells book was a great read but so sad. Tc campbell who was pals with mcgraw gave the impression that mcgraw was an ok guy and there team made alot of money. As tc had knew mcgraw since they were age 13. Tc said we knew that mcgraw was paying the serious crime squad to turn a blind eye and to let us know if any one was on to us. And tbh its hard to see whats wrong with that as everyone was happy and no one went to jail, except mcgraw who got cought about 3 times and did 3 month, then 9 month, then 12 month, but he kept his mouth shut. And the difference was becouse we broke into the rspo 's the charge was 'breaking into premises' a huge difference from holding them up with a shooter plus we got more cash and no one got hurted or even threatend. So the difference of doing it that way was either 9 to 12 months or 13 years and it was carried out in militery like position and each man had his own job to do, it was one for all and all for one. As the years went on there was talk on the street that mcgraw was also trading in bodys? But the fact is that there is and never has been any proof of this, so what are we meant to believe. Tc campbell was a proper real hard man that was one of the best fighters that glasgow had ever seen, infact a dont believe there was that many that could beat him. He was a big guy at 6ft1, and that was a giant in the 1970s if you were 6ft1, and stil is big today, if your 6ft your big! I didnt even know tc had did 10 years in jail just before he got life for the doyle fire that he and joe steele didnt do, so really tc did 30 years when the bastards finally let him and joe out? As he and joe did 21 years a think before being granted a royal pardon! Plus they wouldnt have got out at all as they didnt admitt they were guilty, as all lifers have to admitt they did do it to get out on licence even if they didnt do it under a life sentence rule and regulation before the prisoner can even be considerd for release? Thats a very hard thing to do or say knowing you didnt do it. And alot do say it just to get out. Plus the dirty bastards didnt even pay tc and joe the money they were owed in compensation, tc got a payment of 200 grand and promised the rest shortly? As he applied for over a million pounds and was granted it, but why does it take them so long to pay it out? But if tc owed them it they would have it that week. I am not sure what joe steele got, but joe was owed at least over a million pounds. For 21 years in the snib plus the crime they were jailed for alone? Should be at least a million pound. They should have got 3 million each in compinsation, and it should have been in there bank accounts in about 4 weeks after there release. Its not that hard. A wonder what pathetic excuses they kept given them when the money just wasnt forth coming? As in "eh sorry mr campbell but the manager isnt in just now and wont be for the next 4 months, as i dont know much about this, yes well i know a million pounds can or could be transferred into your bank but i dont have the authority to do that, so you have to talk to mr jones the manager but that would be at least another 4 months? Hes owed alot of holidays lol yes as in 5 years worth but i will note you called again and again ok bye" pathetic. The manager was sitting next to her.

Two bricks and a bottle of Irn Bru, which is a well known Glasgow/Scottish drink, gaffer tapped together to give the impression of weight in the holdall (bag), I still can't understand how someone would part with £50k without checking what was in a particular bag. They saw that as a big insult, so in the process of trying get that debt back there were a few casualties..... I used to work for an ex gangster. He was one of the most genuine men you could wish to meet. The stories he told me, you couldn't make them up. One story he told me still sticks in my mind. He was up on a charge and knew he was going down for a year or two. As it turned out, the magistrate was someone he played golf with. Upon entering the court, they both nodded at each other in acknowledgement. The proceedings got under way and then it was time for the sentence. The magistrate turns round to D and says "you do realise that I am going to have to sentence you to prison. Do you think you could manage 3 months D?" D replied "yes I can manage that." When D told me this in full we were sitting in a cafe having a breakfast, which I nearly choked on with laughter.
