Wonderful story, beautifully told, Will. Yes, please, what happened in 2014 to make you want to stop dancing. In this episode, I found something very important that needs to be understood by adults of ALL ages: that you began Classical Chinese Dance training to "please your parents" and obey them. Which is good when you are a young teen. Very good to respect and honor their wishes. BUT often adults grow older not realizing they need to come to decisions on their own, based on how their hearts, their souls, their talents are guiding them. Too often, older adults never transition from "doing it for my parents" to doing whatever "it" is for their own reasons. Essential for a healthy adult life. And, of course, your acceptance of how to form your character through your religion is wonderful.

I cried as soon as the curtain opened, I laughed and was angry. From beginning to end, I was truly blessed. Whatever your trials have been, I’m beyond grateful that you are still a part of Shen Yun. It’s amazing how you made to top in just 6 years! Especially starting relatively late at 13 I’m sure it wasn’t easy for you!!! Most professional dancers start as early as 4 & still struggle to master techniques/artistry even in their 30s… Very inspiring indeed ❤

That's a very inspiring story Wil. I'm not a great believer of parents pushing kids to take up careers that aren't the child's dream but sometimes it works out for the best and just sometimes parents do know best. We all Love you and I certainly understand the trials you underwent and are still dealing with as a dancer. I am somewhat reliving my past through you, so thank you. Through your charisma, you have endeared yourself to us, so of course we care to know what burned you out. I remember my burnout. I had positive people around me to help me through it.
