I (an aussie) played with friends from the US in overwatch for a long time without realising that ping makes a difference, it just felt normal, then I started solo queueing ranked and I jumped like 4 divisions and swapped to hitscan because it was like putting on glasses for the first time, crazy stuff when you go from 250+ ping every game to 30ish
