Hello! Your daughter’s hair is beautiful. My grandma was a licensed hairstylist and beautician/cosmetologist. She cut my hair ONLY when I had split ends. If I did not have split ends she did not cut them. And she only cut what was absolutely needed. My mom also took extremely good care of my hair, as you do your daughter. As a result my hair was always long. When I got older and strayed from the routine they established my hair suffered greatly. Now I’m back on a similar routine and my hair is long again. Furthermore, I don’t use a lot of heat on my hair but I also use the cool setting on my hairdryer when I use it. I also protect my ends as much as possible. This keeps me from getting tons of split ends. Hope this helps.

Do you and never let others !! I haven’t trimmed mine since taking great care of it. My length is like that of your daughter’s. I can’t get my adult daughter to not let the hairdresser stop cutting her hair. The way you use oil then grease in your daughter’s hair is exactly the way I have been doing mine for years. Though sometimes, oil only, depending on its need. Sometimes a leave-in conditioner.

As a former qualified hairdresser it recommended to trim hair every 8 -12 weeks to enable healthy hair shaft, otherwise if you don't then split ends will continue along the hair shaft and ends will be thin and tangled 👍🏾.

My hair is the same length as hers how come when I blow dry and straighten my hair I look like a poodle with long hair it gets so poofy it sticks out like 3 feet outwards I'm clearly doing something wrong and I had even turned the heat up. Your hair grows long it just breaks a lot. So your goal should be length retention. Don’t manipulate your hair much at all. I suggest doing African threading on your hair.
