Don't know which one he uses, but I can recommend Orchestra. Has a lot of the classical instruments which sound decently natural (as far as possible) to me I think you can also use Kontakt from NI, but they are famous for their string section, I suppose they also have brass but never looked in to it, because big bux

@@BamiLing Kontakt's brass section is amazing, especially layered with strings, but even on their own if you use the Orchestral section "Brass Ensemble" preset from their starter pack or w.e and change play style to "Staccato" or one of the other "stabby" blow types it literally sounds like there's a brass ensemble in your DAW playing for you lol

No it is not necessary to learn music theory. In my opinion it is best to train your ear first so you can tell what sounds good, and then when you learn music theory it will all fall into place and be easier to understand. Gotta crawl before you ball.
