I like the way you never "write off"" cars as useless, or gutless etc. etc. So refreshing as a normal buyer not being belittled by smart arseness. These cars aren't fast, we know, but they're super useful, 4WD, and have a certain cache cos Subaru. Come up to Whangarei. They''re everywhere bro!! And thanks for reminding me about the clay bar. And also about the boost making brakes suddenly go hard. Appreciated mate.

Love these subies. Just one question: in Europe, the sport came lowered on Bilstein with 18s wheels from factory, twin exhaust (and full spec interior - leather and rear vents). Are you sure this is a sport?
@KiwiCarLife3 ай бұрын
Just coz it says “sport” doesn’t mean it’s the same spec worldwide. This one is a “sport” because it’s got paddles, body kit, larger wheels etc. doesn’t have the suspension or leather though

I think that sounds like what was called the 2.5GT in New Zealand. 2.5litre, turbo, with 5 stage Auto behind it. I had one for a few years because i wanted a fast 4wd wagon that wasnt Euro. And other than those features, I hated it. Noisy, terrible Bilstein suspension, nasty cheap interior and questionable exterior styling. The Gen3 and Gen4 Legacys were much better cars in their day.
@KiwiCarLife3 ай бұрын
@@BullyHayes1977 yeah agree tbh the gen4 legacy I had before was better to drive and better built than this. Dunno how the new one got worse
@thomass81183 ай бұрын
@@BullyHayes1977 Most European countries did not have the 2.5 turbo (or the later 2.0 DIT). We had 2.0 N/A (EJ204) with 6 speed M/T or CVT, the 2.5 N/A (EJ25) with CVT and the 2.0 diesel with 6 speed M/T. The 2.5 and diesel were available as 'sport edition' and had full leather, rear seat AC vents, bilstein shocks with lower springs, 18 inch wheels, twin exhaust. In some markets (Germany) they also offered the 2.5GT (only 09 and 10) which came full specced from factory. When euro5 emissions came around, the 2.5 was dropped and was never replaced by the DIT.
