Yes, do a weekly budget. And for those saying your budget is not low-income are crazy. I'm in NJ my rent alone is over $2000. a month.
@crystalclearbudgets8 ай бұрын
$3,400 is a low income for a single mom. If she wasnt sharing rent with her parents it would then cost her about $1,600 for rent then you would all see its low income for a single mom of 2. Remember wages and prices have gone up so the monthly low income has increased and has changed as well. Also it depends were you live. Everything costs differently where you all live. So dont tell her $3,400 is not a low income for a single mom. It is!

I would say it's a low income for anyone that's living on there own with or with kids. Not bad for young person who lives with parents or roommates.

We are a family of 3 still at home (technically 4 but oldest is almost 30 & out on his own), & we make between $5k-$6k/ month & that’s with hubby working 2 jobs &several streams of income… but we also pay out the wazoo for insurance (seriously, it’s ridiculous ~ though we have recently changed insurances as the previous one was CRAZY!!! As in just for our house insurance alone (not even including the 2 paid for vehicles) would have been $12K this year (last year the house insurance alone was $8K & seriously almost wiped out our emergency fund). We are working on getting our baby emergency fund back to at the very least $5K ($20K would be better, but we’re getting there), especially as we are trying to wipe out our debt. Currently working on adding more streams of income. I’m a SAHM & we homeschool our 9 yr old. This year between inflation & all of the commitments that we have going on, it’s all trying to murder our budget. If 1 more thing comes up that costs $400-$500, I might just scream like a psychopath. $3400 a month IS EXTREMELY LOW income, especially these days with inflation being nuts. She’s doing an amazing job!!! I wonder if, as a self employed person, if it’s possible she could get an HSA or something like it. Having an HSA the last few years as significantly lowered our medical costs like you wouldn’t believe. Might be something worth looking into.

Mental health is very important. Always prioritize it. My kids are all grown up. But when they where small my mental health was a big struggle for me. I suffered from severe panic attacks. I am very grateful that I had my dad and my stepmom who saw that something was wrong and stepped in to help me.

Hey, Jordan. First, I want to say how proud I am of you. You worked hard on your KZbin channel and your Etsy shop to be where you are today. It wasn't easy, as I have been here long enough to see your transitions in your life. You have been consistent in what you do, even if life throws a curveball. You know how to be resilient. You are very aware of people's differences in income. However, we all should understand that it comes from your hard work and dedication to your channel and Etsy shop. This is inspiration that we can also do the same if we make the commitment to do what you do on a consistent basis. Just know that someone on the other side of this screen understands you ❤.

I always forget my list and I add things all week that I need. Summertime I start grilling abd cooking for my family on Sundays .You will get everything straightened out. It just takes time.

Yes you said Aldi correctly make sure to leave a quarter in the car. 2 to 3 lines is all I use on my budget sheets ever so often I might have 1 extra but not very often. Also I believe you are not too far from the Field of Dreams I did hear it costs now but it is amazing to visit.

@JordanBudgets8 ай бұрын
lol you didn't miss it! I didn't explain taxes in this video. My income is low so I don't end up owing much at this point in the business. The taxes I do pay, I just pull from the business bank account when the time comes. If this was a secondary income or I had a husband (with an income) I would need to put a lot more of this money towards taxes.

@JordanBudgets8 ай бұрын
I see where you're coming from, as I do get a comment or two like this every time I share my income and consider my family "low income". I do not consider us below or at the poverty line (we aren't) but considering the median household income for every state is significantly higher than what I make, I consider us low income for that reason. Most families are not living on a single income at or around $3,400 per month in 2024. I'm always curious to hear from others though as to what they consider low-income for a family of 3. ❤️
@TaraannBudgetsandSelf-Care8 ай бұрын
According to your state you are almost $500 a month below the maximum income level to get free lunch if the boys were in public school. Therefore you are considered low income.
