My skin care routine is so basic that sometimes I am skeptical to share it. Step 1: Cleanse! I have dry skin so I can get away with cleansing once, but if you have very oily skin then you can do the double cleanse. Feel free to alter it to your skin's needs. Step 2: Oil/Serum. You can do a toner before this, but I have teenage skin (by this I do not mean acne prone skin, just trying to point out that I am a teenager) and dry skin and I really cannot find any good toners that do not contain acids so.... Anyway, use any oil that is light but very moisturising (you can skip this if you have oily skin.) Some suggestions are Argan oil, Avocado oil, but my all time favourite is Black seed oil. Step 3: Moisturizer If you have oily skin than you can just straight up jump from step 1 to this step, and I would recommend a moisturizer that does not contain too much oils. For all skin types, please find a good quality moisturizer to use. Do not skip this step as it is very important. And that's about it! Part of the genes running in my family is good skin. I have never for the past 16 years of my life suffered from acne, and I was born with baby soft skin which is why I don't need a lot of steps for my skin care. Hope this is helpful. Oh! I almost forgot SUNSCREEN!!

Although I have different skin condition from yours and I've been using different products (mostly Kiehl's, and I love them so far), I still get excited whenever you upload a new video because I know I will learn something great from you! And I also love your vibe, super classy and soothing! Oh 1 more thing, your recommendation of the Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion tremendously helped me through a skin allergy happening to me last month! I agree that learning to use the appropriate products for your skin type can make such a drastic improvement. I always thought that because I got a pimple or clogged pore every now and then that I should use products for oily skin. In actuality, my skin actually tends toward dryness and the over drying products were stripping my skin and causing more pore clogging 😬 When I began using a cream cleanser with a moisturizing facial mist (I love Aveda skincare line and also make my own face mist with essential oils) it was amazing how soft, smooth, clear and dewy my skin became! I love your channel and always learn so much ❤

Renee, it has been such a wonderful experience to see how you have cultivated your channel over time with all your helpful tips, experiences, and particular skincare knowledge. You glow with confidence in your own skin, and that really inspires me to love and take care of my own. I suffered (and continue to suffer) a lack of self confidence due to upbringing and other environmental effects. However, watching your channel continually has really helped to bring more self-awareness and conscientiousness into my own skincare routine and therefore, helped me to develop a more suitable skincare routine to give more "self-love" to myself. Whenever I get ready in the morning, your videos will be in front of me as I prepare my skincare and makeup face. ^^ As well, when making a review on Hwahae (a Korean skincare/makeup app) for The Ordinary's Alpha Arbutin serum, I mentioned that it was you who really inspired me to try (and subsequently, fall in love with) the serum. It is all due to your recommendations and evaluations of products that have helped me streamline my whole skincare routine. For example, IsNTree's HA Toner, The Ordinary's Alpha Arbutin + HA Serum, The Ordinary's Niacinamide Serum, Manyo Factory's Niacin Essence. I currently use all of those. c: Moreover, every Sunday, I will do a modeling mask to treat myself and my face. (I buy Lindsay's modeling mask in a bulk bucket that really saves money in the long-run compared to individual cups.) c: I hope you continue to experiment and contribute to the KZbin community as you have been doing and you always find joy in skincare. To great skin health always~ c:

I was always confused about this “oil before Moisturize” or “moisturise before oil” thing.. I wanted a really good answer for that.. acc to some it’s always oil which is going at the end.. but now acc to you it’s “oil before Moisturizer” I have a question.. I mean putting oil (I mean oil, be it cosmetic oil products or simply an almond oil) before Moisturizers will let Moisturizer sink in?? Will oils let our creams to hydrate us more?? I mean we have always learnt that oil acts as a barrier & does not let anything go there?? Confused big time.. plz help..

I always do a double cleanse at night whether I wear makeup or not just to get the pesky sunscreen off. In the morning, without fail, I wash gently with the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser. I use acids and retinoids at night so I feel better just doing a quick gentle cleanse in case some of these products are still on my face.

Oh my I just love watching your videos and all of the information you give is amazing. I also love that you answer some questions! I did subscribe and will eventually watch them all. I have purchased some of the products you recommended and can't wait to try them. I'm 63 and my face is very very blotchy. If my skin becomes even half as beautiful as yours I would be happy. My skin care routine has been to wash with a vitamin C cleanser, splash with witch hazel (no alcohol) and apply Reviva Labs Hyaluronic Acid Serum. Apparently I need more. I always have to cover my skin with a foundation or I wouldn't go out of the house. Now that I have retired I have time to get an education about my skin and try something new. I have one question so far..... I did purchase the Mandelic Acid that I saw in this video and I don't believe there are any instructions in English. Do you put it on like a toner and leave it or do you leave it for a while to do it's work and then rinse it off? Anyone?

Love every single video of yours. Your advice has completely changed my skin and I will forever be grateful for that. I am chronically ill and pretty much bed bound. I love that this is something I can do in bed (my carer brings in a large bowl of water for cleansing if I can't stand up at the time). I love all the steps. It takes me ages but I'm not ever in a rush. I just had a few questions.... 1. I have cosRX Galactomytes 95 essence. I was using it after hydrating toners as it says it's an essence...should it instead go at the very start after cleansing? 2. In the mornings I use a vitamic c serum (and thanks to you I always use it straight after cleansing now and it's made a huge difference)....would I still be able to follow it up with my "first treatment essence"? 3. Once a week (at night) I use the ordinary's lactic acid and usually do that straight after cleansing...is this the right place for it? I just ran out of my retiniod from the ordinary which is an emulsion but I still used it first....I am thinking of replacing it with the retinoid in squalane and wondering if it's still the best place to put it on straight after cleansing? 4. With the "serums/treatments ect." I have been sing them in order of water based, emulsion, oil and lightest to heaviest. Does that seem right? 5. where is your rotine wold you put eye treatments/serums? I use a hydrating eye serum that I usually apply after hydrating toners and a retinol eye cream which I usually use after oil/before moisturiser. But that was a guess based on working from thin to thick/water-emulsion-oil-cream. 6. I asked on instagram and got some great responses about finding a moisturiser like cerave pm but without silicone (I hate the feeling of silicone) and preferably without parabens. The protini was well out of my budget. I did try the liquid gold (despite parabens) but my skin, especially my neck ended up covered in white bumps. I am still on the hunt for an affordable moisturiser with all that good stuff in it and thought I wold ask again to see if there were any other suggestions. 7. Lastly....any dupes for the drunk elephant eye cream? It's wayyyy out of my budget. sorry for the barrage of questions. I have just seen so much improvement in my skin but it's now stalled and I am wondering what I can do differently. Also wold love a video on your favourite sheet masks at the moment. thanks!

Loved this video, always informative, answers a lot of questions, I appreciate you showing where to add treatment etc, as sometimes it can be overwhelming, trying to figure out where to add a step according to which products I have in front of me. Thank you Renee 👏🏽👏🏽

Hi Renee, your videos are beautiful and informative as always. Your voice is so calming, I kind of feel like I was in a spa for the past 14 minutes haha. I was wondering if you had any suggestions for more affordable vitamin C products OTHER than the ones sold by the ordinary?

Leticia M I use DE C-Firma but it’s $80 or $85. You can subscribe to Timeless.com. I’ve heard good things about their Vit C.- 1 oz is around $26 and the 4 oz is $65. You can also order the Timeless Vit C from Amazon but it’s “freshest” when ordering from the Timeless website. Unfortunately some products oxidize when coming from Amazon. I hope this helps! I’m obviously obsessed to all skincare! ;-) 😉😂🌼🌻💐

Thank you for another awesome video Renee. I haven't had a chance to visit your channel in a while, so am catching up on a lot of recent videos now! I was wondering, is there or will you do a video including any French products? For me personally, they have worked wonderfully on my skin and I'd love to hear your thoughts on any fave products you've enjoyed! Brands I love include Caudalie and drugstore faves such as La Roche Posay. I've found their products to be very hydrating as well (I've got dry skin overall). Love the videos!

Hi Renee. Thank you so much for posting this video. I hope you can discuss moisturizers next time. I'm using Cetaphil for 6 months now, everything seems fine. Comes summer, I started getting small bumps and I don't know if these are called milia. I did not change anything in my routine but redness and bumps appeared. I'm still searching for a new moisturizer. Thank you so much. Stay awesome.

Thank you for sharing your skincare routines with us your subscribers. I have a question for you which may prove to be a difficult one. Can you advise me on what skincare items that i can use both morning and night time for my eyes especially the upper eye lids? Can you advise me on what to use to perhaps firm both the upper and lower but especially the upper eyelids? I would appreciate some help here. I am a 60 year old lady who i have been told i look in my early 40's but feel that the years are catching up with me. Thank you.

Thayer's is just excellent. I put it in a glass spray bottle and drench my chest and up! It’s lovely and my pores are teeny tiny.

Asian toners are more about hydration while American toners are more about pH balance and removing remaining makeup on the skin. I've tried the Thayers toner before, I like it, but I really prefer the more hydrating Asian toners.

Soo oil first and then moisturizer ? I thought you should do it the other way around so the oil will seal everything

I adore you!! Have learned so much from you, Renee. But I remain uncertain of setting up a skincare routine with retin A and/or retinols. Would love for you to speak to that!!

So happy you uploaded a new routine video! Was curious what yours recommend for a vitamin C product that is not from Deciem’s line as well as are you using any retinols and if so which ones do you recommend? Thank you so much Renee!
