I was looking at purchasing the DIY kit from Ryonet and I was looking for something to mount it on. I was thinking about getting a utility cart, i would then have to buy some wood to create a flat surface. It would cost around $150. I came across this video, ordered the cart from Ikea, and it works great. Very simple to put together, and to me, its a little bigger than how it shows in Casey's video. It cost me about $76 including shipping. I plan on making shelving under to hold my screens and also buying a blackout curtain to put around the base so i can store screens with emulsion on them.

I'm glad it worked out for you! I'm gonna do some customizing to it too whenever I get a chance

Love the humor in your video. :-) Thanks for the recommendation. I'm headed to IKEA in a week or two, anyway, so I'll totally get this table while I'm there. You saved me some time/effort with that, so thanks a bunch!

Love this idea, and am following in your footsteps. I'm about to mount the press to the surface. Thanks for the detailed video! (One thing to note about the cart you chose is that there isn't sufficient tabletop space to mount both the hinge kit and the press. Hopefully water-based ink printing works on the press with the offset removed.)

Looks like cool cart. Looks like I might end up getting one of the printing kits to play around with. Cash is low for one of the good printing packages, hopefully someday. Looking forward to your videos on your Journey of screen printing.

+Street Glide69 Thanks a lot! Yeah I highly recommend this setup especially if you're looking for something small and cheap as an entry level printing press.

Did you drill pilot holes 1st and then use normal wood screws to mount the print station to the wood top? Or nuts and bolts?
@artsyfartsystuff42777 жыл бұрын
looks like it would tilt foward from the uneven weight of shirt platform sticking out on the one side , so from you pressure of pulling down paint firmly with squeegee u r gonna tip table :)

Very innovative ideas. However, I am noticing that everyone is into the IKEA wood table. I am more interested in the actual screen printing press. What is the model? where did you get this single planten press?

Do you think a 2 station 4 color will hold up on the Kitchen Cart?
@StartScreenPrintingNowTV9 жыл бұрын
Hey +KB GFX. Yes I believe it will but a quick warning: the mounting area of most 2 station presses has a much taller profile and a longer platen arm so everything sticks out a lot farther. This means that it will be alot more prone to tipping over while you are putting pressure on it while printing. Another reader told me that they are using the same cart for that and they just put some cinder blocks on the bottom shelf and it keeps it from tipping over. The one station press I'm using mounts directly onto the cart from the platen arm and the platen arm is alot shorter. So thats something to take into consideration. You can see us talking about it over at gigposters.com here: www.gigposters.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161999 Thanks dude!

i bought the cart and the diy kit today for my hubby. This is awesome. Is there anything additional that I have to purchase other than the two items. What is the blue thing and does that come with the kit? thank you again you rock!
@StartScreenPrintingNowTV7 жыл бұрын
+Marissa Chang Flores You're very welcome Marissa. The blue thing I think you mean is the press arm. This company makes two different diy screen printing kits. One with just hinge clamps and a more expensive one with a whole press (in blue). Do you have a link to the one you purchased so I can see which one you got? Thanks!
@mchangflor7 жыл бұрын
hey there casey!!!! wow you are freaking speedy i lovee it! I purchased the links above that were listed: www.ebay.com/itm/DIY-Printing-Shop-Silk-Screen-Make-Tshirt-Print-Kit-Classic-Table-Top-Design-Set-/142410202322?_trksid=p2385738.m2548.l4275 and the cart from ikea.
@StartScreenPrintingNowTV7 жыл бұрын
Awesome! So on that one you linked it is not the same as the one I am using (same brand though). This version just uses hinge clamps so that you can raise and lower the screen but you might be able to attach it to the ikea table. Here is the one I am using: amzn.to/2i84cQA

Hey Casey. I'm just curious. Do you find the cart stable enough when printing, despite the fact it has two wheels?
@StartScreenPrintingNowTV8 жыл бұрын
+chronicfish hey dude. It's always been stable for me. I have the wheels on the back opposite side of the platen which I think helps. Some people have said they put something heavy on the bottom shelf just in case. If you are putting a taller press on it than the one I'm using it may be more of a problem
@chronicfish8 жыл бұрын
Start Screen Printing Now thanks for your response Casey! I was actually considering the FÖRHÖJA at $109, since I need something larger, (I mainly do 20x24 prints and want to use jiffy clamps) but I was concerned about the stability of it, especially the FÖRHÖJA, as it has built-in wooden wheels. Do you think I should be ok and just bite the bullet and go for it? Thanks in advance.. and great videos btw!!
@StartScreenPrintingNowTV8 жыл бұрын
+chronicfish Thanks dude. I would say if you're gonna use clamps and nothing is gonna be hanging over the sides of the cart then I think you shouldn't have any problems with that one. That thing looks awesome by the way.
@chronicfish8 жыл бұрын
Start Screen Printing Now Yeah,.. nothing is going to be hanging over.. thats why I wanted a larger trolley. Thanks for your advice Casey!! keep up with the awesome videos!

+DroopertMcRudes I had to drive to Ikea and use a screw driver....so.....um... yes?
@DroopertMcRudes9 жыл бұрын
Ok. Maybe we have a different understanding of the word build. It does look nice though. Does it support the weight of pressing down with a decent amount of force without tipping?
@StartScreenPrintingNowTV9 жыл бұрын
I was just joking with that last comment +DroopertMcRudes. But yes surprisingly it does not tip over when pressing down for me. I might put sandbags on the bottom shelf or just "stuff" down there to make double sure. But please also see my reply to KB GFX above for a more thorough explanation. Thanks man!
