I always wanted to learn conservation leaf casting! This is a skill set that only a few have mastered in the comic conservation community. Kenny Sanderson of Sanderson studios is really the gold standard for this kind of work and I am alway blown away by his work and I took it upon myself to learn. But first I need a leaf casting vacuum table. These run from $5,000 to $10,000. Well outside of my justifiable budget. So, I set out to create a budget version for myself using items from Amazon and my garage and a bit of ingenuity! Here is my story!
Cheers!

For a first go at it I'd say it was a tremendous success Larry. The vacuum table design was well thought out and performed exceptionally.

Thank you Don. I’m currently editing a video on this particular book. This one was really about the table itself.

Wow, amazing assembly work. I’m tempted to build one but I don’t have the space for one. I’ve been using sponges to suck any excess liquid and been working for me. Congrats on the wrap, great job, excellent video.

Thank you Peter! For me, I need to move quickly so I’m able to do an entire wrap, start to finish, in about five minutes. Not including drying time which is usually about 30 minutes.

@@FlyingLComics that’s excellent procedure you got going. Do you dry it in the heat press?
