This looks amazing! And clearly the sweat, time, skill, and money was well worth it :) I think many people forget that and appreciate you mentioning how long it took to do a certain task. A person must consider its not just "saving money" but factor in the time and commitment to do the job (correctly) as well as be open to learning new skills along the way. If you're planning on building a concrete slab as large as this, DO NOT USE THE DRY POUR METHOD. Take it from a structural engineer. The dry pour method is great for like a flower bed or a few pavers that you don't mind breaking within a few years. Mix the crete and use rebar reinforcement you wont ever have any doubts.

definitely add some rebar to expand the width of the slab to hold and support your post rafters and roof. you could see a stress crack that runs parallel to the new wall on your slab

Any concrete supporting structure is preferred to have a footing on the outer edge of slab. Wet pour is preferred for this instant. Did a perfect job on the rest of project though. A+

1. Don’t put old concrete and new concrete together without adding sticks of rebar, this will help with shifting. 2. Get a concrete truck and a pump for a few hundred 3. Either install in bed plates in the concrete for the posts or set the posts with the concrete

Just came across your channel. Very nice. I am handicapped and a senior citizen and can not do all that myself but I think I can do a dry pour at the bottom of my steps. Right now there is like one paver and that isn't enough and it moves around.

Suggestion for an aesthetic point of view, you should’ve installed some of the siding that you use for your pony wall on the roof first and then your OSB. That way you have a nice finish look on the inside And if you use 1 inch nails for the roofing, they won’t protrude through the ceiling. Also roof pitch looks a little low installed a metal roof roof to prevent leaks. Otherwise, it looks great.

​@davearnold1883 If you are a renter you have to have permission from owner in order to do projects that will alter the existing build and if it does not add value or home owner doesn't want/like what you did you will be liable for it all and removal of addition as well as liable for restoring it back to how home owner had it prior to tentant mving in. Even painting a room has to be cleared with home owner. This ensures renters just don't start tearing a home a part they don't own and leave owner with destroyed property. I would highly recommend that if you are renting to not do any DIY projects on a rental. If you need anything taken care of then it is best to contact home owner and let them fix the problem.
