This is my build Bblog of the Tug Boat Imara. She took 6 months to build, at a cost of over £700. This includes the extras like paint, motors and electronic controls.

Sir: You did an amazing job on this tug boat. Kudos to you. I just ordered this exact same boat today 9-13-2023. I just finished building the Happy Hunter by Krick Models from Harbor Models in California.

Well done Ken . Did a fantastic job on it. Love all that detail . I've built the 40"tug " Lady Woose " . I found out that when there's a large amount of red paint on the hull , it makes the tug rather heavy lol Mine weighs 13kgs. All the best running her . Cheers from Ron (Victoria , Australia)

Some parts of the white cast metal are in brass now . The kit was made by a company called Jotika in Hadzor Worcestershire . I work there and a lot of caring hours go into these kits.

Hi Martin, Thank you for your kind comments. I did use better Prop shafts made from stainless steel with bushes each end. These I got from my neighbour who runs Marksmodelbits dot com Mention my name and you will get a good price. You will also need to buy Brass props of good quality. I also used two 7 A/hr batteries as it's capable of carrying the weight. Watch the poor scale drawings. Measure three times and cut once. Cheers Ken

hello, i bought the imara, but it only has 2 big drawings in the box and an instruction book with written text. so no manual with pictures as models of billing boats, is this correct? and the screws are not included. Nice build your imara.

Hello what a good building form the imara. Great building and so real. But i have a question have bought the imara but i want to now if you have used the standard prop shafts or from a other brand. I ask this because normally the standard propshafts are not so good. But when i look at the cost for thgis boat they must be good therefor my question Also i want to know if you have 2 12v 7.2 amp battery's in the boat i do think that that is nessescary Regards martin
