For this tank I used a single 13W Jungle Dawn LED bulb in an Exo Terra Compact Top hood.

GE silicone #1 (blue label) is 100% silicone without mold inhibitors. It comes in a larger tube and is prob a little cheaper than Loctite. Thanks for sharing this vid. Super helpful

Thanks for sharing I found the whole series of videos very helpful and enlightening. Do you think you can put a list together of the material you used, especially the plants?

I had the same draining issues that you’re describing here. The issue isn’t the size of the bulkhead, it’s an issue with airlock. Think about the drains in your house plumbing, they require vent behind the water flow to allow free flowing water. Inside your tank, you should have run a line up and a ‘T’ fitting turned 90degrees so that the straight part of the fitting runs up and down and the water enters off of the 90 degree part of the fitting. Hope this helps someone and isn’t too complicated. Increasing your bulkhead size MAY actually work though as it wouldn’t allow the pipe to be completely full of water. Another idea would be to cut your drain line short so it isn’t underwater in your reservoir.

A lot of the time spent attaching fabric To a bumpy wall could be saved by making most of the surface flat. The Plants have various thicknesses and growth habits. They will contour the walls themselves, to some degree. Pins or garden staples can be used to adhere plants to the fabric. Plants grow over them and it is much easier than glue. What do you do with the exterior? Lots of good ideas here. Thanks for posting this. I think I’m going to build a similar idea around my dogs Winter water bowl to add humidity to the house.

Thanks. The bumpy texture was an idea I wanted to try because I figured it would add visual interest and variety; I do not like flat surfaces because they don't look natural. I didn't realize that the Riccia would grow over it so thick and hide the texture. Pins or staples are metal so rust would be a concern, although temporarily for short periods would be fine until plants root. The exterior remained just the glass tank as is. I delivered the tank to my friend who I made it for and hoped that someday he'd make a wood case for it.
