How do you carry your backpack? 🤔 🌐 Living Able-bodied (My Website) - livingablebodied.com

Mason I like that Hook idea you had a lot. Right now my Backpack is hanging off the metal bar that holds up my Head Support and it is turned to one side of my Powerchair because I have a Backup Camera on this Powerchair so I am not able to have anything in the back because it will block the Camera. But I would like a Hook like you have better because I do not want my Backpack to loosen up my Head Support because I had a problem with that with my other Head Support and it was loose and not really Holding your Head and Numotion were here for four hours trying to Fix it but they could not get it to Tighten so they Ordered me a new Powerchair with a better Head Support than the ones I had before and it is a lot more Supportive and made Better and stable now so I do not think that it will loosen up like they did before.

@@pagzplay hi I was reading your comment when I was reading Mason Ellis' channel and I like your idea of having a camera on the back of your chair.How would I mount one on my quantum 6? Would you happen to be able to tell me? It sounds like your head rest is similar in design to mine. I too have to pull my backpack to the side after putting it on to the headrest. Thank you MERRY CHRISTMAS!
@pagzplayАй бұрын
@Dee-rt8nd I have a Quantum Edge Powerchair and Numotion Ordered it with my Powerchair. The Screen is on a Raised bracket attached to my Arm Trough on one side and the Camera is in the back by my Head Support. I think that they should be able to mount it on your Powerchair too. I like it for backing down the Van Ramp and last time I had my Catheter changed I could tell what was behind me to back into the Procedure Room. My Head is in my Head Support so I am not able to tell what is behind me at all but with the backup camera I can do it now and that is awesome. It goes on automatically so you do not need to be able to do anything physically to make it work for me and it goes off when I stop moving. I can tell pretty much everything that is behind me now and where it is located but I still have people who help me with knowing how close you are but you can do it more independently with this. The guy from Numotion knew that I could not tell what was behind me and he let me know that they have a Backup Camera now and he Ordered it with my Powerchair so I think that it is really new because I never had one before with my other Powerchairs. This Powerchair now has a lot of different things on it and more lateral Support for Positioning and a Better Head Support and they put everything on raised brackets in front of me now like the Screen for my Backup Camera.

@Dee-rt8nd The backup camera is better than I thought that it would be now that I have it and I like to be able to know Independently what is behind me now without someone else helping me all the time like they did before. You just need to learn how to use the Camera and learn how close to what you are backing up into and you get better at it the more you use it. At my Catheter Change I could do it Independently and at first the Nurse tried to help me but I went I can do this myself now and she let me and she thought that it was awesome how the Backup Camera Works.

I think so too, and I haven't seen this done on anyone else's wheelchair. Thank you for watching and commenting!

That’s a really smart idea Mason! I fell off a ramp and broke the headrest lever...now no head rest...sniff sniff.

You can't use the headrest without the lever that tightens it?
@morgancalvi667527 күн бұрын
@@masonx54 the lever is what broke...it won’t stay tight.

I've had a messenger bag hung from under my armrest in the past. I had a tray for my armrest so I used that bracket to hang my bag from a pipe I fitted with two small hooks on the ends. I had to remove the tray bracket to fit a different bracket for a side pad that I use while driving. So now I've been carrying that same message bag on my feet and against my shins with the strap looped through my seat belt so I don't drop it. I have a foam tray I use as a lap desk that also sits against shins under the bag. This isn't ideal for pressure reasons to have my bag there. I really like your hook idea. I've been scared to have anything important behind me though because of theft potential while in public but I could definitely do this for my toileting stuff! jokes on any thief that steals my ostomy supplies lol. If I keep doing a messenger bag and front carry I need to do hooks or luggage platform thingy.
@masonx54Ай бұрын
Having a bag on my feet seems like it would be extremely annoying. Luckily, I haven't had issues with having my backpack on the hook in public. I don't have anything in the backpack of monetary value anyway. I suppose the mini Quadtool is of most monetary value. But, yeah, your comment about the thief and ostomy supplies is funny. Haha Thank you for watching and commenting!

I just put my backpack on the push handles of my power chair and if I get it, I'll put my gym backpack on the push handles of my manual wheelchair as well. When I was in high school, I think I clipped my messenger bag backpack to a carabiner and some rope and clipped it to the handle on my backrest of my manual wheelchair

Nice DIY, cheaper then the bag hooks from Permobil. I think the bolts are 6mm. I have the push handles that I could hang a bag on, but I like your DIY.

I put the top strap around the headrest pole then attach the headrest to my wheelchair
@masonx54Ай бұрын
That's interesting. What wheelchair do you have?
@morgancalvi667527 күн бұрын
This is a bad idea and will break the head rest.
@masonx5427 күн бұрын
@@morgancalvi6675 I'm not really sure what they mean. Seems like it would be better to just put the strap around the headrest pole while it's attached to the wheelchair instead of detaching the headrest and then attaching it.
@morgancalvi667527 күн бұрын
@@masonx54 yes it would...but the weight of the back pack would cause the head rest to fail and not hold. There’s warnings all over the place NOT to do that.
@taraisaacs896527 күн бұрын
I put it around the pole then attach the headrest. If I have a wheelchair that has push handles I put the straps around the push handles as well. My manual wheelchair has one long stroller handle all the way across and hand controls for a caregiver to tilt the chair. Heavy backpacks will squeeze the tilt levers and tilt the chair at the most inopportune times!

❤ I was just wondering do the leg supports you have cause pressure on your shin bones area or calves?
@masonx54Ай бұрын
No, they don't. They are loose when I am sitting and go against my legs when I am standing. If I stood for a long time, the pressure could cause issues.

@@masonx54 no, I’m in a manual chair, but have a lot of neck damage, so use a headrest. They still go on the same way.
