The pneumostome or breathing pore is a respiratory opening of the external body anatomy of an air-breathing land slug or land snail. It is a part of the respiratory system of gastropods. Common Large Garden slug usually seen as Black but do come in a variety of colours, orange being the least common colour.

Hi, love your videos. As just getting back into fishing. Do you use a thin wire trace for this fishing. Or just tie to your mono line feeder.

Thanks mate! For this kind of fishing I just use mono straight through. I know there isn’t any pike in there so no risk of being snapped off, if it was down river where there are pike I’d definitely use a thin wire trace. I hope this helps and thanks for the comment!

That river looks brilliant to fish, nice chub too, any idea of what other fish species are in there? The hole is how land air-breathing slugs take in oxygen. The colour is highly variable in slugs and dependant on the species but also diet (I only did a bit of gastropods but at a guess I'd say this is a European Red Slug).

Good slug knowledge! And yeah it's a lovely river to fish, loads of trout in there as well as some really big chub. Unfortunately the trout don't get very big because it used to be stocked, was rewilded about 4 years ago so they're getting bigger year on year but they don't really get above 2lb. Theres a few sea trout running too and the very occasional salmon, very illusive though. Only hooked one, hoping to change that in October for sure!

@@adventurefishinguk Occasionally my obscure knowledge comes in handy! I thought it looked spot on for trout. Sounds like there is a lot of potential for the future. I don't know much about sea trout or salmon, I understand you have to so a lot of rod hours at the right time. Good luck, look forward to seeing if you catch!

Hi Micky, I've used the smugglers a few times they're brilliant rods. There isn't any of that content on my channel though, when I'm filming I prefer to use ultra lite rods. by smuggler plus do you mean the smuggler max the longest rod?

In my river the big chub never bit lures only tiny ones and there are some monsters in my local river ,like 5lb+ but they never bite lures
