I try several things to find the most efficient way for me to wash aluminum bleachers. How NOT to ruin the finish. The most complete video on KZbin about cleaning bleachers. Spoiler alert - It's not easy!

I appreciate your video and here’s how I do it. I downstream SH ON the bleachers heavily use 19 or 16 inch whisper wash on the seat area and the floor area. Being very careful not to hit my bar then I will use an extra jet or green tip for rinsing. Don’t forget the old-fashioned tips. They still have a place.

Thanks for the video. Very informative. Like to wear polyester clothes while washing. It doesn't hold water and dries quick. Also, bleach doesn't seem to bother it. And it's lightweight. Just my preference.

you got lucky. We did a set of bleachers this year that hasn't been cleaned in 15 years. SOOO much gum, debris, algae to be cleaned. Then they wanted it brightened. The size of bleachers you did in the video was about the same size as what we did. It took 2 guys, 3x 10hr days. LOTS of wash out on the steps as the had boxed out steps. The pitch of the bleachers was off too. So we had to keep going back to rinse things. 1 step forward 3-4 steps back. The water supply REALLY sucked too. constantly out of water, even with full tanks starting with.

@@housewashing5693 I think you did a great job, especially explaining do's/ don'ts, best ways / worst ways, etc. most of the time the bleachers are neglected when you get to them and it takes a lot of effort to make them look good again. One guy on our crew was doing nothing but gum for 1 day. It was pretty bad. Theres many variables when it comes to cleanings in general and thats why we give estimates. it's very rare we run into something we didn't plan for, like the wash out I mentioned. If this didn't happen, we would have been 2 days probably. We also had to deal with cleaning them during school and when the students were around the infield. Made things a little more complex as we had to wait for them to pass, no hoses on the track, etc. Would def encourage trying to sell annual. good for them to maintain and good for you to repeat work. No one likes to set on a dirty seat. Think about all the pop, ice cream, chips, etc that bleacher see. its pretty nasty when you think about it.

I can’t say it enough. A little $200 1.5gpm home model pressure washer should be a standard piece of equipment for flow issues. It’s better to take 3 hours to do a 2 hour job because you’re using a mini at the bare minimum psi than 5 because you have to stop for half an hour every 20 minutes to let the client’s pump catch up to your 4-8gpm workhorse.

Another option was to two stepped it like fleet washing. 1 part acid and 4 part water in 5 gallon bucket and down stream. Let it dwell 1 minute and the 1 part sodium hydraucide 4 part water in 5 gallon bucket and down stream. Then rinse with water. Just a recommendation and need to do a test spot like you did.

I’d price that between $3500 and 4. The chemicals would probably be about 1500/2000 Including neutraliser. Chem is very expensive down here. That’s why hot water is best used, but then again Diesel is quite expensive and hoses don’t last.

I would think sodium hydroxide would get up a lot of the black staining where people walk on the bleachers. In high traffick foot areas at estaurants, I've seen a lot of KZbin videos of using that. However, that is on concrete. im not sure if it would be safe on aluminum bleachers.

you need to have your truck as close as possible to for better pressure. The further away the more hose means less pressure and less SH coming out. Your need more garden hose to supply you water, that will allow you to pull your truck BEHIND the bleachers using less hose. Problem is you never considered the distance. You looked at Google to figure your plan of attack and never going to the site and thinking things through. When you got a big job go look at it and make sure you ready for it. Your skin rash sounds like bleach burns not jock itch. Did you take pictures of any kind to show before and after? Did you document existing damage so you don't get sued? Your dealing with government here, they like to sue, for anything. One last thing to everybody, it's a bid job, the winner is the lowest bidder.
