Hi, my dolls! I just want to add that I have learned recently NOT to add any essential oil to my oil cleanse mix. I was adding Lavender for my evening mix, but I found out that this can actually be very irritating and inflammatory for skin of color. The oil cleanse definitely saved my skin and thank goodness I didn’t react to the lavender, but if you have skin of color (more likely to tan than burn) proceed with caution when using essential oils! Love you all! 😘

I am sorry to hear that! I know how frustrating and painful this can be. I will be making a series of skincare videos on my channel at the start of the new year. Keep a look out! For now, my best recommendation is to take a look at your diet. Do you have any possible allergies? How is your sugar intake? Do you get enough water each day? Think about cutting dairy from your diet. I also highly recommend using Niacinamide!

I really hope this isn’t a stupid question but is there a difference between hemp oil and hemp seed oil?? I see the one you showed in this video is hemp seed oil and the one linked is hemp oil.
@AsijahPickett3 жыл бұрын
That’s actually a great question! Hemp oil is made from the leafy parts of the plant whereas hemp seed oil is made by cold pressing the seeds. Hemp oil is still a great benefit for our skin! It is non-irritating, won’t clog pores, and is a great moisturizer. The biggest different I think is that hemp seed oil has a bit more benefit of fatty acids that our skin loves so much.

I started oil cleansing 2-3 years ago and while I never had cystic acne I have always had breakouts since puberty, plus horrible combination skin that was both really oily and flaky dry. Much like you tried just about every over the counter product and switched to just olive oil (now I use a combo of that and avocado oil) some of the adult ladies in my life thought I was crazy but it was the best thing ever for my skin. I just began experimenting adding in some oils as a final step to nourish the skin and jojoba is helping to clear up the pigmentation leftover from some of my worst breakouts. Next up is rosehip seed oil and essential oils (I've grown up on EOs and they are amazing. While everyone should definitely check for personal reaction my entire family puts most of them directly on our skin, start off light and experiment from there). I only do once a day and use way less than you because I went my face first. I've found it works way better than going on "dry"
@AsijahPickett2 жыл бұрын
This is excellent info thank you for your comment! For me, essential oils irritate but each of us have different skin needs. I’m so happy to hear you have found some combinations that work well for you. I have a little bit of pigmentation still and have heard good things about the Jojoba oil so I might need to give it a try!
@noneofurbusiness52233 жыл бұрын
At night do you wash make-up off first? (I would thing you would since you're leave some of it on after you wipe excess off with damp cloth.)
@AsijahPickett3 жыл бұрын
Hi! When I use this method I don’t usually wash my face first. The oil takes all of the make up off. If I need to, I will double cleanse with the oil, or I will use a micellar water first. I recommend the one by Garnier (pink bottle) because it only has like three ingredients. There shouldn’t be any residue of oil left on the skin after you wipe with the towel. If you still feel it then Go ahead and lay the warm towel over your face again (after rinsing it of course) for 30 seconds and wipe away. Your skin should feel nourished and moisturized but not oily. And I still follow up with a moisturizer :) I hope you enjoy this method!

Is avocado oil good for acne prone skin?
@AsijahPickett3 жыл бұрын
You can use it if you have dry skin, but it’s not the greatest for your face as the comedogenic rating is 2.5!! That’s pretty high. If you have acne prone skin I recommend a mix of Castor oil and Hemp Seed oil like I use in the video. :) also there is a link in the description that says “oil cleanse cheat sheet” that you should take a look at

I’m so sorry you had a reaction! I would stop using that oil. Next time you try a new product make sure you patch test first. Rinse your face with very cold water. If the redness doesn’t go away you may want to speak to a dermatologist. Did you check the chart in the description of this video? Maybe it was not the right oil for your skin type. Hemp seed oil is always a safe bet.

I have acne prone skin and my skin has been pretty much clear since accutane, I just started doing oil cleansing and my skin broke out really bad only on my jaw,cheeks and forehead a lil I did some research and you need to use an oil that’s non comedogenic so like jojoba which I use.(there’s a lot more) after oil cleansing wipe off with a hot towel and then go in with a general cleanser (like cerave/ vanicream) leaving the oil on your skin can be making the acne worst. Also I found out that your skin can be purging if you’ve never done oil cleansing before. So what’s happening is the oil is pulling up all the acne the was deep down and would’ve came up eventually. purging is only when you are breaking out in the same places on your face that you normally do, and only happens with exfoliators (aha/ bha acids ect and also oils exfoliate as well) hope this is still useful to you
