You didnt have to go through that long process. WES converts HND to bachelor's degree as long as you have over 60 credits. For those who want to go this route request WES Course by course evaluation and your HND will be converted and recognized as bachelors degree. Alot of people have done masters degree with their HND, you just have to know the right evaluation to do through WES.

Hey there, WES canada currently converts HND to 2 year degree in an institution. Only IQAS recognizes HND as a 3 year program which is more or less bachelors - and this is for immigration purposes. When it comes to doing masters with HNd, it’s mainly possible in UK and US and the masters has to be in the same field as HNd l- however, Mimi’s reasoning for her move was because she wanted to switch from mass communication to a Business and Finance Major.

Pls let’s share the right information. WES cannot qualify your HND to Bachelor degree not even a course by course evaluation because have done both.

@@Mimiojieh Except they have stopped it. I live in the US and I did my WES course by course in 2017 /2018 and WES wrote equivalent to bachelors degree in the United State. Did you evaluate you HND separately? I combined with OND and my credit was over 180 which exceeds the credit hours for Bachelors degree. Any doubting can reach out and I will show you my WES evaluation.

There are lots of people in the US that have done Masters degree Straight with HND. It’s evaluated based on number of years and Credit hours. That’s is why I advice people to request for your transcript from OND-HND and evaluate at the same time.

I have a course by course evaluation of my HND and it’s not equivalent to a bachelor. I don’t know much about the US though that’s why I spoke regarding Canada. I was also not ready to do anything in mass communication hence why I took that route as I explained in the video.

A UK HND is different from a Nigerian HND. A Uk HND is 1 year after a diploma and equivalent to the second year in university in the UK.

@@seechinwe I think you can apply to colleges but not universities. It’s all depends on the schools but most likely you will be starting from 200 level again with a lover credit. Frankly speaking, if I’m in this shoe I will call the college admission office and ask what my options are.

How about doing a 1 year conversion from HND to BTech in Nigeria before going to Canada, can you still do a direct masters degree with with the conversion certificate???

You can only do a masters degree in Canada with bachelor degree. If you convert your HND to Bachelor in Nigeria or anywhere else you can use it in Canada. Note that anything other than a Bachelor won’t work. So when you say conversion certificate is it that the school will issue you a Btech degree or just a certificate to say you converted HND to Btech?

You only need to do WEs for the degree you want to use for your application. If you’re only using your first degree then that’s all you need to verify with WES.

I don't think so, you have to check the school requirements before wasting money in WES. Once you have a master's degree and you are just applying for express entry, I don't think that you need WES.

Honestly the best way to know is to apply. I have a feeling that they do consider gaps if you have a good explanation to accompany your application. Yes for ND & HND I prefer IQAS

They will definitely know is one year program why normal BSC is 4 years... Hope that will not be an issue?
