Good to see your transition to healthier diet and the more refined tool sets for cooking over time. Congratulations on your weight loss! Having a small separate battery pack for running a refrigerator and other electric appliances seems wiser than draining your car batteries every time. I used to drain my car battery system via an inverter for a while, and ended up replacing the main hybrid battery! I can tell that as time goes by, your toolsets and regimens have evolved quite a bit for the better. Best wishes~ ^^

I love quinoa. It is a complete protein on it's own, so it's great for a meatless meal. Sometimes, I like to add nuts and raisins to it...believe it or not, that tastes good with a little bit of garlic, salt and pepper. It's great with all kinds of veggies. Sometimes, as you know, it comes preseasoned. I love those precooked, shelf stable packets.Aldi is my go to store. Now they have little quinoa meal cups, precooked with a ready made sauce to add at the end. I think those a great small meal or snack on the go. I'll bet I can just sit an unopened one on the dash and have it warm enough to taste good. It wouldn't need to be very warm. Happy Travels!

Haha, for your video intro, you made a cartoon of when you drove the Prius through the river. I'm working on window inserts for my Prius, as per your video on that. I'm a nomad too. My dish washing routine is clean the cup, pot or pan immediately after eating out of it. I then clean 99% of the pan with a silicone spatula, just the silicone part, I removed the handle. Then I spray a little h20 in the pan & wipe clean with a paper towel. Done. * Using a spatula head first really reduces paper towel waste/usage. Thx 4 your videos.👍👏 Happy Travels 2u.

Tip for salmon: marinate it in seasonings and olive oil in a plastic bag for a few hours for flavor. Also: put a good sear on it with very high heat initially, then turn the heat way down to finish cooking the interior. Don't overcook; that will make it dry. All of this will lock in flavor and give you a nice caramelized surface.

Put Sea salt on the Fish. Also flaxseed will go right through you without the nutritional benefits. They either have to be soaked or grind to powder in a grinder. But great choices trying to eat healthy. Quinoa is pronounced differently 😁 as someone else 👉 out. But love your journey, set-up, content. So many great ideas and items you use and share. Thanks for your videos, they are always very informative. I'm a part-time van dweller who also uses 100% vinegar to clean my dishes. I have two pots that are the copper/ceramic type and I think using non-stick wfhen conserving water is a must. I mostly use an induction burner if I have enough sun, but I do have a backup butane stove for cloudy days or if I want to cook outside the van. Wishing you many adventures.

Lived in my Prius for a few months this year as was evicted and with the whole Ukraine thing, it was impossible to get a place here in Dublin, Ireland. Anyway, all I cooked with was a Mini George Foreman grill and a crepe maker. If I was to do it again I think I would get an electric wok as they are so versatile. Love the channel, it was a great inspiration for me. Homeless people often die on the streets in Ireland as it can get so cold at night, even in summer months.

One thing I forgot to mention which I found to be indispensable (and I think you might also like, and others too maybe) is the Sous Vide devices. I have small gas one butane (like yours) for emergencies only. I would not recommend it for everyday use since those butane mini tanks are expensive. I got a heavier Camp Chef Explorer, Two Burner Stove with an 11 or 20lb propane tank, much cheaper fuel comsuption, but it requires more space to store and use. In my case, I do have a tiny 4x8 sleeper teardrop that I pull with my Ford Fusion Sedan, so most of bulky/lightweight stuff goes in there. Now for a Prius setup like your's where space is crucial, it definitely makes more sense a GasOne/butane setup.

I'd add more olive (double what you used) oil to pan, heat it fairly hot first, alone, while you season the salmon with light salt & pepper only, then add salmon to medium-hot oil in pan, turn to medium, cook 2-3 minutes to light brown, then turn pieces & cook to light brown on other side (2-3 minutes per inch of thickness per side). Salmon is much better if its not overcooked (some eat it medium rare, lol, me? medium is good). Once overcooked, its like a hockey puck and loses its texture & flavor. Squeeze fresh lemon (never lemon in a jar or plastic bottle, there is NO COMPARISON) over it & your spinach (a pat of real butter on each is a treat, as well), all while you gently heat your quinoa (I say keen-wah, but ppl all say it differently). Try asparagus with salmon. Also try Ready Rice-of your flavor choice. Like steak, salmon just isn't the same thing if overcooked or over seasoned, light garlic salt is good on it, btw. I'm suggesting this with love because salmon, like steak, ain't cheap, and I think you want to try to cook it much less for moistness & truer flavor. Great you're eating healthy. Recipes online galore! Happy travels living the dream life. I'm jealous!

Very cool! I am curious how you cook when it rains, or if you are in more public places? I love to see someone who eats healthy on here. One of my favorite quick and easy things to eat are the Alaskan Salmon packets from Chicken-of-the-Sea. Fish with no cooking required! You can get them at Wal-Mart, and if you get the 31 grams of protein one that is a complete protein meal! I take one, open the top, put some healthy avocado mayo in, with seasonings like himalayan salt, pepper and parsley, stir it up, and I have a quick and easy, healthy meal. So simple! Would love to learn any quick, healthy eating tips you might have picked up along the way that don't involve cooking or a lot of prep. It can be so tempting to end up in the fast food lane when you are traveling. Thanks again!

In my neck of the woods, you can typically pick up one of those butane cans for $1.50. Butane is butane. Coleman fuels are always overpriced. They have a monopoly on the green 16 oz propane cannisters and they're up to almost $10 at Walmart. Used to be closer to half that not too long ago. You can get a converter to use the propane cans in that butane stove. To really save, you can get 5 or 10 lb refillable canisters that are much cheaper per use. But you have to make use of the canister. But you only have one of them.
