Gus 🐭 really enjoyed watching this, we too decided to do a wedding on a budget. We don’t agree on having to please everyone on the day that’s specifically for a bride and groom :) we’ve been together since we were 16, it’ll be our 9 year anniversary in January, we get married in 18 days while we’re on holiday in Disney 😁 we spent around £7000 on the holiday and our wedding together. We both love watching your vlogs. Please can you do one on how you do your hair, it’s always so lovely ☺️xxx

GUS! :-) I loved this. I'm not a fan of big huge overly expensive weddings so this was totally up my street. Although we got married secretly(yes, yes we did that, last year :p only my mum knew), because I just hate to be in the centre of attention, if we had to have a party/real wedding, we would've done it basically the same as you did. Just simple, basic, not too many people, .... But I knew it would stress me out way too much. I couldn't have handled that. So we asked my mum to look after our daughter, it was a beautiful, sunny, warm day, so we rode our bikes to City hall and we were in and out in like... 10 minutes?! It cost us 15 euro's .... :-) We just wanted to have everything settled, because when my stepdad suddenly died last year, we saw how much misery it brought my mum. They weren't married or legally living together, so his ex-wife and children got everything. Which made me so sad and angry at the same time. They were together for over 10 years. So my mum asked if we had everything sorted out and we came to the conclusion that we didn't. So we started looking up things and it turned out that marrying on a friday was only 15 euros. Other days it would've been way more. So we went to register and the we could get married 3 weeks later, so we randomly picked the first friday 3 weeks later, which turned out to be july 13th...(which also is Walt and Lillian's wedding date, I only discovered that late at night when we came back home :p I mean...what are the odds?!) So after our official part, we went to a restaurant for lunch, had a lovely walk and bike ride back home, went to a place I went as a kid for icecream and enjoyed the peace and quiet and the sun and it was a lovely day. Without any stress! :-) this was not at all boring, lovely. You looked so beautiful, I loved that hairband too! Very princessy! xxxxx

For the cake did you tell the maker that it was for a wedding or not? And if not, how did you get the cake to the venue yourself? That’s something I don’t want to spend much on if I can avoid it. I loved the venue ideas, but unfortunately where we live is kind of a wedding hotspot (mainly because it's away from the city and is coastal) so even the small halls with no air conditioning end up costing over $5000 as a base line, it's so frustrating. I loved the look of the barn and do want something like that but they would cost a fortune because of the aesthetic. Maybe that's just an Aussie thing tho?

I had 32 people at my wedding last October. we spent quite a lot on the venue because our dream venue was a barn, and we also spent a lot on photographers because that was very important to us. I feel like if you spend your main budget on what matters the most to you as a couple then scrimping on the rest doesn't feel like it's scrimping at all because you know you've got your main dream sorted (if your honeymoon destination is what means the most then that's perfect!)
