I think the biggest draw I get from this video is that it works well for Croft because he’s extremely good at switch sticking, and this defense, when he makes his 8 adjustments pre snap, put him in a good position to switch stick and make plays. Without the switch stick aspect this defense in itself is probably average. Especially if that looping linebacker doesn’t get in on the blitz. I think each defense is about being extremely comfortable with the formation and personnel and making adjustments to what your opponent does quickly. Get pressure as much as you can and make your opponent have to make quick reads which will lead to turnovers.

If your struggling to make a lot adjustments etc, I'd highly recommend you at least mess around with shading your coverage. Will help a lot!

Hey Dcroft, I have been running your defense recently and I’m liking it a lot. What would be your adjustment if you get bombed from outside receiver on deep middle post. It’s weird that I got bombed by it last game and the middle third just doesn’t get back fast enough. My thought is to take the safety in the 3 rec hook and throw him in a inside quarter.

Running 4-3 against human players usually won't work. Most human players are pass happy and prioritize speed so running 4-3 won't work against humans. Don't run 4-3 unless your roster is built for it.

Defense is weak against QB scramble and a decent amount of runs. The cat and mouse is whether you are letting them throw to the seems or the sidelines. It’s good at letting people drive on you but not score quick. Defense seems best when you are ahead and they are having to be aggressive. Not great when losing or trying to stop someone from milking clock. Would love to see you creat a consistent 5-6 person blitz you sprinkle in but I’m sure the look would have to change a lot.
