Fun Fact: The exact tree model in the game is not fully modeled on the backside to save resources since the camera is fixed in one direction.

Dunno if you're still reading comments here or not, but fun fact; instead of busting out the calculator to figure out the angle of rotations for the array modifier, you could just type 360/n for the angle, with n being the (n)umber of iterations you want. Hope this helps in the future. :)

after watching this in super slow mo and trial and guessing I managed to get it done. you click on the advanced tab and make sure that the rotation selection is on. switch it to normal. then you select the main leaf plane (not the ones on the hair) and then you go into the edit mode. you rotate the leaf until it lays flat on the sphere

hi! im trying to do this and i also subscribed to your patreon so i could look at the details of each part but im having a lot of issues with the leaves, once i try applying the subdivision surface it just distorts really bad and i dont know how to fix it, has this happened to you too or do u have any idea of what it could be?

What does exactly distort? is it the texture or the mesh itself?

@@3Dschool-David it seems to be the mesh itself, it gets all pointy instead of smooth

@@mariecandanoza8236 That seems weird. It can happen when sculpting something very thin. You might want to inflate the leaves a bit and smooth the vertices out. with a smooth brush.
