Please check your food. My discoid eczema oozes pus and was itchy all the time. Went on holiday and got some sun and that helped. But my diet was the main thing behind it. No sugar for me is what worked. And eating the same food day in day out is what helped. Within 2 weeks it started to clear. I hope yours clears itself and you find a cure for it

Surprisingly, my doctor recommended that I see a naturopath even after doing a blood test and figuring out I’m allergic to dust mites. I’m also seeing an allergist... probably months from now. But he said I should attack the issue from every angle and naturopaths know more about nutrition than he does. I love doctors who don’t just prescribe a bunch of drugs and actually look for the root cause.

My doctor gave me an allergy test. They took a blood sample and sent it to Germany where they determined that I was allergic to 33 different foods. They also made an entire diet plan for me including a step-by-step elimination diet plan. The packet had recipes with foods that I wasn't allergic to, a calendar, and a table so I could keep track of my process. It's called ImuPro and it's very helpful.

Thank you for this video Janice. I woke up one morning two months ago and my eyelids were itchy and swollen. They turned bright red, the skin cracked, everything burned. I'm 58 and have never had allergies or illness other than colds. I washed my bed linen, threw away make up, dusted and washed everything. I was embarrassed to go out in public, but knew the standard medical "treatment" would include topical steroids, a patch test and other useless approaches. My diet has not been great over the past few years but relatively vegetable based with occasional meat or fish for protein. I was under tremendous stress for three years and had a very bad bronchial infection just before the eczema showed up. I think a combination of a depressed immune system, lack of proper exercise and a haphazard diet contributed to the skin flare ups. I've gone 2-7 days without itchy, burning, scaly skin then it returns. I found that good honey helps calm the skin and combined with lanolin helps keep the skin from drying out and splitting. I was not able to tolerate anything else on my skin. I have used plain organic yogurt topically with some success - on the premise that the skin bacterial environment is out of whack (eye mask chemicals and exposure to cold dry weather in Denver, CO along with the bronchial infection) - I hope these details are helpful, I apologize if they are tedious. I'm on my third day of a juice cleanse and am crossing my fingers it will help. Your video has supported what I've discovered and offered good information about things I haven't tried. Apple cider vinegar is an excellent aid for many metabolic functions. Thank you everyone for your experience and information. It has certainly helped me.

I seriously feel for you with it on your eyelids like you did. I could have cried listening to your story. I have had it for ten years in my early 30s now. It started for me in college after lots of stress, lots of partying and sleepless nights.i have round dry patches on my palms under my knees and my heels. I was also having heartburn regularly, chronic “sinus” issues and stuffiness all the time. I spent money on all the steroid creams, saw dermatologists, podiatrists, allergy specialists, finally one day I made a connection with dairy and saw instant improvement - digestive issues gone within days and skin showed some improvement. Sometime after that I consulted my mother-in-law‘s naturopath up in CT. (There’s none where I live in SC!) we did an IgG test and found out I was sensitive to eggs which I also used to eat very regularly as well as dairy wheat and soy. I saw decent improvements to where it would no longer crack and bleed, but never fully healed. That was fall 2018 I kept it mostly under bay. Fast forward to when COVID started happening. I got pretty stressed in The beginning, Binged on a lot of “safe “ carb/potatoes eating every day eggs while working from home , next thing you know it’s all crazy again and I was taking digestive aids for a week straight. I went back to a super strict diet again eliminating all sugar wheat lower grains dairy soy alcohol, things look the best they have in awhile even before the last breakout three weeks later but feel like it’s plateaud a bit. I’m really ju ST hoping that I need to give it a much longer time frame maybe try the book you recommend. If I’m certain of one thing- diet is responsible I just haven’t found my perfect balance. Shame on the doctors and specialists and drug people who try to deny the food connection. Thanks for your video for helping spread the awareness.

Most of my family suffer from eczema including myself but my 8 year old daughter is just now experiencing it and it has been an up and down roller coaster. She is bothered by the itchiness and will even bleed from scratching too much. She is even ashamed to go out in public now that it has spread on her face/eyes. We are weeding out dairy, eggs and breads/pastas. She doesn’t eat meat and loves fruits and raw vegetables. Hope this works! Thanks for sharing your experience. Gives us hope

This happened to me! I had eczma when I was around 8 for about 2 years and it came back once I turned 20. I did my research and self-diagnosed myself with perioral dermatitis (a form of eczema). Went to an allergist and a dermatologist and they both did not want to entertain the idea that it was dairy causing it. I cut it out for a month and the redness went away. Sometimes I would forget a certain food had dairy and my face would instantly start to itch and get red. The research I did myself from google helped way more than the 2 different doctors I visited. I did also change products I use on my body to be paraben free, fragrance free, sodium lauryl sulfate free because I did notice that these products irritated mys skin. It is more expensive, but definitely worth it. I may try cutting out eggs next and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for sharing!

Specialist these days are out of date because they stopped studying in school and knowledge is constantly growing. That's why they usually choose the lost psychological approach, "I never heard of that, you're too young to be going through this, it never happens, I googled it that's what it sounds like, you're just stressed, you're gonna be alright, lets start with a drug worse then all of the street drugs combined"

What you say is true, but coming from the medical line, I can say that doctors will only go by the book and practise what they have learnt - 'evidence-based medicine'. Thus it is not common to find doctors who actually bother to understand or give credit to other forms of medicine or therapy. Having learnt under doctors, seen doctors and been a student myself, it is frustrating when doctors tell patients or even me that 'there is almost no way this can be caused by something else' etc. I have respect for the medical profession but it only has so much - literally. As someone who has been freed from a lot of my health problems through a combination of education, trying out simple solutions (like sleeping on my left side, doing the Valsalva manoeuvre to clear my sinuses, doing oil-pulling) , as well as improving my diet (cutting out all commercial oils, taking coconut oil daily, cutting out dairy) - all by the grace of God - I must say that there is a wealth of great treasures to be found for the sick in natural therapy. Sometimes we need drugs (especially when we have not found out the natural solution yet), and sometimes natural therapy or common sense actually does the job.
@krswan72

I don’t think this is true. Medical professionals have to complete a certain amount of continuing education each year to maintain their license. Not saying that some specialists aren’t stuck in their ways from school and refuse to acknowledge other therapies, because some of them definitely are.

I know exactly how it's feel. I had on around my lips and it's gone then I had in my hands and legs. It sucks when getting itchy at the end that was always bleeding. I know it was so stressful. You shouldn't scratch it but at the same time it feels so itchy. Be healthy everyone xx

The case is so same with me too.. I had my eyes look same like yours and had been about two months. And my doctor also said the same as yours did. But I am trying to cut out eggs, dairy products, tomato soy products, fish, chicken and meat from my diet and it has actually helped me since three days. The rashes have gone though still scars left. I am hoping this dietary method will help my ecezma heal, after taking so many injections and medicines, nothing worked. I hope this dietary plan shall.

Thanks for sharing ❤ I totally on your side. Struggling for 13 years of scalp eczema. No doctor can cure. Some dermatologists are great, they comfort me and talk about sunshine, diet and nutritions. Some dermatologists just told me no cure and prescribed steroids. That’s it! I have the confidence to deal with the itchy scalp now with information shared like you on KZbin, google… Nowadays my eczema is getting better and better with food, rest, sunshine and taking care of my scalp with no harsh stuffs. Hope that will encourage more and more people with eczema. There is a cure just find it for yourself. don’t lose heart, it is a long journey sometimes!!!

Janice Eadie Hey Janice, I’m a local Toronto resident as well with eczema. I just saw your video and it was wonderful! I was just about to consider starting this whole vegan diet however I am allergic to nuts and shellfish. I will be cutting out the eggs, dairy, and gluten. What’s the author and book name that you mentioned in your video? I’m very curious about these anti inflammatory foods. Thank you so much!

Cut Omega 6 and add omega 3, and make sure the ratio of Omega 6:3 should be 1:1 no more than 4:1. This will improve immune system, anti-inflammatory, raise HDL and lower LDL. Add coconut oil mixed with garlic into our bodies to improve HLD by 150% and antioxidants. Cut out sugar and white flour, rice etc. completely. Eat fruits and vegetables. Add fiber and good bacteria for healty gut. Then you are on your way for recovery. Thanks.

Hi Everyone,For years and years I was constantly being hospitalized with my head to toe eczema. It was constantly getting infected and I needed IV antibiotics to even make it slightly better. Anyway, long story short - I went completely vegan and after 4 weeks my skin was almost completely clear ! 2 years on and the only treatments I need are very occasional mild steroid ointments if I react to something in particular but that's it ! I was taking Azathioprine (Humira) and it was making me so so sick. Eczema sufferers - PLEASE try going vegan, it will make a huge difference !

I have eczema on my hands. I cut dairy and eggs from my diet for about 6 months and at first it cleared up pretty quickly but then it came back 😔 I went t see a “natural” doctor that is known for being very effective and she told me it was my blood, it was too thick and I had bad circulation (and yeah I’ve always had kind of bad circulation) she told me I wasn’t allergic to dairy or meat or w/e. She prescribed me some salts I had to drink and some drops for my liver and a diet. The only meat I could eat was chicken, I couldn’t eat lots of veggies and fruit like pepper, avocado, watermelon, etc so many!! Which was very strange to me and I was very skeptical but at this point I had nothing to lose. Long story short, this has cleared up my eczema so much, at first I was very good at keeping the diet, right now I’m sick of eating the same few veggies/fruits/chicken so it has been coming back and the worst is pork, when I eat it my eczema flares up so bad so yeah, i think it’s about clearing your liver (i think, I’m no dr. I’m just giving my two cents)

I can really relate to this! I'm from Toronto and I've had severe eczema on my whole face (red & flakey), my arms and fingers these past few years. I was given Hydroval and Lydern which both helped me a lot!!! I've been suggested to take a patch test which I'm still planning on doing. I am allergic to ragweed, dust, different foods, etc. I love milk but have currently not have drinking much and I have thrown out all my makeup and horrible laundry detergent. Honestly I feel like I HAVE to start controlling my diet and what I'm using on my face and body. And Thank you for this video!! ❤️❤️

Another thing that I find helps with eczema is to get a lot of sun exposure. My eczema leaves in the summer after a lot of sun exposure, and returns in the winter, then goes away when in vacation in a warm climate like Mexico, then comes back after coming back to Canada.

I know I'm super late to comment on this but I found you while scrolling for tips on my skin. I'm 27 about to be 28 and I randomly got eczema. It's so bad it's on my chin and my nose and I've been to doctor after doctor and was told "oh here's a steroid shot heres a steroid cream" and nothing has worked. I started cutting out dairy and spicy foods so far. I've never had this issue with my skin before and it's taken a toll on my mental health as well. I hate going outside or going anywhere honestly. I feel like a monster, i hate how people look at me. I can't put makeup on because it doesn't hide it and it looks disgusting. My family and my BF keep saying "its not that bad you're still gorgeous" and honestly that doesn't make me feel better about it at all because I know how I look I see myself in the mirror. I felt so alone until i read these comments and it made me feel like maybe there's hope to get rid of my eczema. I know long rant onan old video but yeah. So to all the random comments on this video thank you!

Thank you so much for doing this video. I’ve dealt with eczema on my hands for most of my life, but it’s started to occur on my eyes just like you’ve experienced about a year ago and all the derm has told me to do is use steroidal ointment on it (which doesn’t work and seems harmful). I’ve suspected that I must be developing an allergy to something, but all of the info on eczema suggests topical treatments and immunosuppressants (also scary). Thank you so much for sharing your experience in such great detail.

personally i've had eczema for 10 years, i've been vegan for 4, i don't eat a ton of sugar (it makes me break out), and my eczema still gets really bad flare ups no matter what. side note, while protopic might not be good for long term use, it isn't a steroid, its just an immunosuppressant mechanism to prevent your immune system from worsening your skin.

When my atopic dermatitis or eczema was at it’s worst, it was on the back of my thighs, in between my thighs, my neck, the inner sides of my elbows, hands and it was starting on my face. It was terrible. The worst was my hands because they were the most active and literally, I would hate to wash my hands because it was painful. Showering was painful. It started in 7th grade and went all the way until my Sophomore year of high school. I saw a dermatologist in Mexico and they told me that this was for a life and they best I could so was not eat processed foods and use a steroid cream. The steroid cream worked well but only temporarily. What made my eczema completely go away was changing my diet. For around a year, I stopped eating anything with wheat, milk and corn. I stopped eating junk food and fast food (didn’t eat this as much anyway). 5 years later, it’s still gone. It flares up on my right hand every now and then when I know I’m eating badly. But note, I don’t avoid these things religiously anymore. I eat it every now and then but when I start to eat it regularly like I used to, it starts to grow again. It’s a while so I can’t remember exactly but I’m sure I started having results in like a month. But since I had it all over my body, it took a while for all of it to clear up. My sisters have had a similar healing story with their acne.

My son was so severely affected by bullying because of his eczema. The only thing that kind of worked was steroid cream which I hated and even the dr would hardly give it to him. I tried so many products from online parenting forums and even youtube. Almost everything contained 2 or 3 different alcohols and even some had fragrance in them!!! I got an allergy test and found my son suffered allergies so started the leaking gut diet. He still have eczema but his skin improved alot. I came across an eczema cream from MastoorA beauty when I was stocking up on some of my own personal items and thought why not give it a try as I use their retin A cream which is amazing and their hair growth items. Long story short the woman gave me a huge discount when I told her about my son and vented a little. They told me if you send a picture of acne, eczema or severe hair loss they give discounts to the customers. I wanted to let everyone out there know that while yes diet plays a huge part that is not eczema that is allergies that affect your skin but eczema is something more then that.

I'm also a vegan (super happy with my decision) and although I never suffered from eczema (only acne but cured it with a mostly wholefoods vegan diet) I spoke to an enormous amount of people who got rid of eczema in 2 steps: 1) they went vegan which helped most of them and those who still had it they 2) cut out gluten. It's crazy how many people told me exactly the same! But now being a gluten-free vegan they finally have a clear skin.. The thing is that it's not just about the way our skin looks and whether we like it or not but it reflects the health of our gut where our immune system is designed.. So that's why treating our skin issues has many benefits beyond just the mere looks..

Maybe try to look up some "vegan gluten-free" recipes. Here on youtube there are plenty! I personally don't seem to have any allergy towards gluten but like to eat more and more gluten-free foods as I can also see a difference. I feel a bit more tired after a gluten-rich meal like wheat pasta or a basic bread. That's why I rather buy pasta made of either corn flour or legumes. These are super delicious and add a nice colour to your dish as well. :)

I was recently diagnosed with excoriated eczema by the lab. It was so itchy I was breaking my skin. I have a permanent patch of raised itchy skin on my left hip that never seems to go away. It's worst on my scalp. I just rubbed onion juice into my scalp and it feels amazing. No burning, no itching...I'm surprised. Sugar definitely flares me up and my gut can't handle dairy or yeast. Cheese is fine but ice cream is not so I think it might be the lactose. The biggest offender of all (if not sugar) is soy. One chow mein dinner and I'll have angry knuckle sized lumps on the back of my head. I speculated it might be the GMO typical in almost all soy products but organic and non-GMO soy doesn't seem to make a difference. Before that diagnosis I was told I have dermatitis by a skin doctor which was supposedly related to too much malassezia bacteria on the skin. I'm guessing this is more associative than causal but if not, onion juice should tear it apart. Last month I had an ear infection and the ear drops I used had onion and garlic in it. Took the infection out very quickly. I only had to use them five times in four days to be completely cured.

Great informative video. I’ve been suffering thru my worst flare up to date. It’s lasted around 5 months. It’s very painful and frustrating. I’m changing my diet today in hopes of some relief. Thank you for sharing your story.

Been doing a lot of research lately and your diet can fuel a lot of diseases and illnesses (esp. sugars and chemicals). If you don't have a ton of money to do an allergy test, I encourage you to try the AIP diet (there is a list of foods you eliminate from your diet for 1-3 months and then you slowly reintroduce them to see which ones give you unwanted symptoms). I entertained the idea to go vegan, but ultimately went paleo. I have psoriasis and other autoimmune diseases. A vegan diet is too grain/wheat heavy for me that I flare up and bread/simple carbs make me gain weight too quickly. By limiting my wheat and diary intake, it helped clear up a lot of my skin problems and I successfully lost 50 pounds so far. Overall, everyone is different and I encourage everyone to do a bit of research to decide what may work for them the best. I think the best thing to remember is eat more whole, natural foods.

A vegan diet can be any food that is not from an animal. A vegan diet does not automatically have to include wheat, or any grains for that matter. I eat vegan, but no processed grain of any kind. I just don't understand the logic of "Well I can't eat white flour or bread, so I better eat chicken and steak? What happened to beans, peas, quinoa, brown rice, squash, potatoes and sweet potatoes? None of those are simple carbs, but they are vegan.

The bulk of my calories comes from potatoes, sweet potatoes, black beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, chick peas, split peas. But I also have whole fruits such as bananas, melons, blueberries, apples, grapes, and pears. A typical lunch for me would be a very large green salad, with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, pineapple or apples, and a large baked potato or a cup of beans on top. This kind of meal is very filling. Dinner is something like a pan of roasted vegatables (mushrooms, zucchini, peppers, asparagus, squash) with brown rice, or baked potatoes.

Is it normal if it hasn’t recovered in 3 days? Like I didn’t see any difference. Is it possible that it may takes longer than it did for you?

Thank you so much for this video! I’ve dealt with the same thing off and on for about 22 years now. This year it’s taken a turn for the worst. Recently I was JUST looking into the “Daniel fast” (a plant based diet from the Old Testament). And this video pretty much confirms that I’ll need to do that. THANK YOU so much for sharing! You’re helping more people than you know 🙏🏽
