Just a tour of my Monport M40 after I have fixed all of my complaints with the machine. I primarily use it for acrylic and it works well on the 8x12 sheets.
For templates that I have made, check out my Etsy shop. I build files for projects and tools for laser engravers.

I don't know what happened to the rest of my comment above. The idea I had was to do laser engraving on site. So when I found your video on the portable Clack Shack, I was hooked. I have attached a copper coil inside of an Igloo ice chest. I found a 1 gallon jug that I freeze water in, I circulate around the ice and back in to the chiller resevoir Thank you for all your videos, very helpful

if your chiller had refrigeration, that would lead to condensation forming on your laser tube and interfere with the laser to the point that it would likely damage the laser.

Seems to work ok for a lot of people. A chiller is useful if your ambiant is low, no use at all in warmer temps. I have never been troubled with condensation.

Unless the 'Shack' is air conditioned, when the air temperature in the 'Shack' reaches / exceeds the recommended water temperature for the running the Laser, then that "Chiller" will be useless, as it cannot 'cool' the water below the ambient air temperature in the 'Shack'. My 'Shack' is not air conditioned, and, I live in an area where the air temperature exceeds the maximum water temperature, for running the Laser, eight (8) months of the year. So, that "Chiller" is useless for me. Liked your other mods, especially the 'Lab Jack' mod. I am considering doing that to mine. I have also added a water flow indicator; a cooling fan to the power supply; LED lights in the electronics bay; and a couple of air events, on the front, to increase air circulation. I call my machine the MK40.

Very informative! I've been looking at the K40 type monport, but the 8x12 work area is kind of bugging me.. I saw several 12x20 Co2 lasers but they have all kinds of bells and whistles and are 3 or 4 times as much! What Monport needs to do is make a 12x20 version of the K40 and sell it for under $1000. That would be great!

My M40 is arriving this coming Sat. With the new gauges you installed, did you just use the existing connections or wires? In another video you did, you mentioned with the new Air Assist laser head the lens was located at a different level and caused kerf issues. Did the newest laser head in this video negate this issue or the combo of laser head and 8x8 jack?

I appreciate your content and knowledge. The issue I have as a subscriber is the sheer number of machines you have has lost me in the ability to use your content and advice if I don’t have that certain machine. I applaud you for growing your channel and getting access to all of these new machines but am afraid you lost allot of us that don’t have your access as most of the great advice you are giving us is mostly machine specific. Best of luck, but I have to move on.

I hate you feel that way but the principles, techniques and operation of most any diode laser is the same. The only difference is output and work area size. I have a lot of viewers who have multiple machines and many that are looking to purchase others. I try to create content for folks that use lasers as a hobby or business. I also try to point out the good and bad with newer machines. Thanks…

Its a lab jack, a swivel extension for a 1/4 impact or screw gun, 2 cotter pins and a wooden laser cut knob. Add in a little drilling and it works... lol
