Good morning 😊. I'm always learning new ways to cut fabric, even though I have been quilting for years. I love this star quilt!!! But today, I have to catch up on some canning. Maybe this week I can get some sewing done. Enjoy your day!!😊😊

This has been so good for me to watch you cut up different sizes and how you just put all those colors together and go with it. I love scrappy but have a hard time with doing scrappy since I try to be too controlling with the colors and prints. I need to just let go and let it be however it turns out. Thanks for your inspiration and tips!

I'm glad you found it helpful! It can be difficult to just let go and let it be however it is but it is really rewarding when you do. I hope you try it out and enjoy the process and result!

I have missed your videos. Glad to hear you had family time. I am really challenged when it comes to fabric choices. I will pick fabric for a block and then I will not be happy with my choices. Also.. where do you find your ideas for your next quilt?
@jessica_dayon5 ай бұрын
I'll add picking out colors to my list. It is a hard subject for me because I don't think much about it at all and just go with my gut. However, I get asked all the time to talk about it, so I will try! When I'm looking for a pattern that someone else designed, I use Instagram and Pinterest. When I want to make an original quilt design, I sit down an my computer and find one that I've already designed to make or I play around until I design a new quilt pattern and then make that.

How many blocks are you going to make? What size quilt? Awesome ❤

I ended up making 90 and the quilt measured 98 1/2" x 108 1/2".

I have gotten brand new layer cake fabric from Moda with uneven squares. One time one "square" was a strip of 5 inches by 10, a second time, I got three squares in the same layer cake pack that were too small and didn't measure 10x 10. It's so annoying. I stopped buying layer cake fabric from Moda. I buy from other brands, or I cut them my self from my stash.
@larisasmith34135 ай бұрын
I’ve bought probably hundreds of layer cakes at this point across several brands and I have never had that happen. Why not contact the store you bought it from and tell them? I’m sure they would send you a cut of what you were missing?
@sheilafruge6016 күн бұрын
I had that happen with a layer cake in a Sew Sampler box . It was Riley Blake and measured 9 1/4 to 9 1/2 square
