I have seen another youtuber suggest that when you look at a creaking they close their eyes. Their texture is already very similar to the tree of their choice, so with that added detail, it recreates the troupe of “you look behind you, but is anything their?”

Idea suggestion: I think it would be cool if the tree shape looked more like the sapling we have. I'm pretty sure they said the trees in the Pale Garden were inspired by willows, but they don't really look like them, in my opinion.

6:24 previously on one of the posts, I suggested that there should be hallucinations where eyes appear when within the Pale garden. I was sort of right, but I said that these hallucinations become more frequent the longer the player stays within the Pale garden. I am so happy that this is an actual mod to play with. This is going to be amazing with a bunch of texture packs, a few other mods, and shaders.
@enn192419 күн бұрын
1:39 that argument is flawed, nobody is forced to build on the pale garden, if somebody doesn't like the fog they can move somewhere else, those who want to build on the garden regardless can use the fog to their advantage on creative ways The second solution is cool tho, perhaps you could even use it to get the fog effect anywhere you want using a different block

My issue with this biome is the trees. The trees are just dark oak trees even though the saplings look more interesting. There's a mod that fixes this called Better Trees that is really good. Also, I agree a structure should be in the Pale Garden, hinting the name "garden" there should be a garden place with maybe a house or a tree that randomly generates at the middle.
@orbic52118 күн бұрын
The fog thing is.. interesting, but I think i'd rather the blocks *give* fog rather than take it away. So some generate naturally within pale gardens, and can be moved to other locations if you wanna add fog there, or just destroyed if you don't want it. I see adding fog to areas a more interesting sandbox tool than than a tool that takes it away from a specific part of your world.

I really like your take on how you give feedback; mentioning that you still (for the most part) like the Pale Garden, or at the very least appreciate the work put into it. I can understand if people are a disappointed with the biome, and it's okay to voice that. However, treating the devs like human beings is something everyone should keep in mind. It could just be me, but the best kind of feedback is constructive while still being at least somewhat respectful. (Also, at the End of the day, this is a game still getting free updates??) Mini-rant aside, I do agree with all of your points! Hoping that maybe if given more time the biome could look more... Polished. Or maybe they can revisit it in the future. For specific features though, *man* do I wish there was fog! It could add so much atmosphere, and additionally help the biome appear larger if they keep the smaller generation size. A structure of some sort would make the place more memorable, especially if it potentially offered something like the sawmill you mentioned! Like, imagine the function of that, along with the addition of chiseled logs maybe? Incoming: My needlessly long obsession with this biome I'll admit that I'm biased towards this new biome (if that wasn't obvious already). When it was first announced it became a hyperfixation of sorts lol. I doodled some ideas I had and ended up with things like: A look-alike variant to the Pale Oak called either the Pale Maple, or Watching Maple: - Looks pretty much the same as Pale Oak, aside from a block or two that generates on the trunk. Within the bark texture, a sort of "eye" pattern would be there. - The wood set would also have that faint eye design in the grain of the wood. Maybe a few speckles of sap. - These could also be tapped for sap (yes, I had this idea before the resin was revealed lol). It'd take a little while to harvest, not instant. Which, could be used for a special potion, or turned into syrup. The syrup could be used on something like pancakes or french toast! (the dish has a special effect for all that work though ofc) There was two mobs I also drew and typed up info for, but to describe them shortly: "Pale Stag" or "Muted Stag" - Looks somewhat like an actual stag or deer, but has longer legs, slightly longer neck, and looks somewhat similar to the creaking. How so? The same bark-like texture, along with looking a little gnarled and crooked itself. - Orange/amber eyes like the Creaking. - Silent for the most part - Stops and looks at the player when player looks at them. - Only moves during the day. - Possibly tamable? Sort of like a horse, but a little less health, slightly faster, and better jumping abilities. There's more stuff I have written down like two other mobs, terrain generation, and flora, but I'll leave it at this unless someone wants to hear it lol To anyone that read this far, thanks for helping it feel worth typing a comment this long

What if the eye blossom could be brewed into a potion. if you brewed the open form it would give a new effect "fogless" (gets rid of fog) and and if you brewed the closed form it could give blindness adding a blindness potion to the game.

1:00 I STRONGLY disagree. The problem being that wolf armor is a fairly useful addition. Bundles are a TREMENDOUSLY useful addition. But the Pale Garden? It’s not really all that useful at all. It’s almost ENTIRELY decoration. And also a redstone block… that only works at night. It would be SO much better if we could use resin to craft something USEFUL, like a block that emits redstone signal when you look at it.

Mojang didn’t give us enough time to react to the drop and respond to feedback. It was announced on September 28th. That gave them 6 weeks to add everything they wanted before external verification 3 weeks before release. They should have announced the next drop before winter holidays this month for us to react and for them to respond to feedback. Either that or the drop formula isn’t working as well as they wanted it to.
@algohe7419 күн бұрын
Mojang could do all of this with it's new updating style, but maybe they left the biome like it is right now so they could do those improvements later on. (BTW, mojang technicly did add fog to the biome, but it's the color of the suroundings when the player has low FPS)

I think that Creaking should have a much stronger attack, ignore armour and that Creaking Hearth should be a block that can only be destroyed with better tools, e.g. only with a diamond axe, so that getting rid of a mob is not so easy and by the mentioned higher dmg, wandering into the forest would be much riskier.

@gaminggeckos438816 күн бұрын
These changes are all well and good, but… All of them are decorative. The pale garden would STILL have no non-decorative reason to visit it (aside from using the heart in redstone, but that only works at night). I REALLY feel like we need to be able to use resin to craft a useful item. It doesn’t have to be SUPER useful; I’d be satisfied with just a slightly useful item, such as the recovery compass, swift sneak, the spyglass, the lodestone, wolf armor, etc. Just to have a small reason for non-builders to visit the biome.
@ZeenathZahrah18 күн бұрын
Bro the creeking is actually kinder freaky
@Fidg3tt19 күн бұрын
Creakings could sometimes drop "pale roots" when their heart is broken, which could then be crafted (using 3) into "pale fibres" which could act as a stronger string varient. This could then maybe be used for a grappling hook rope, or to make better bundles, etc

And, yet, another example of Mojang's overprioritization of intrinsic motivation over extrinsic motivation. As demonjoetv demonstrated, both are possible to execute with the Pale Garden, making it more than just a pretty biome. However, as it stands, I'll probably never visit the Pale Garden again after I find and extract its resources.

My thought is that the ambience, be it fog, less mob spawning, desaturation of grass&leaves should be linked to the trees, and so removing the trees would effectively remove the biome. This also means you could grow trees in specific places for the same effects. Imo the creaking should deal damage (easy: 3 hearts, normal: 4.5 hearts, hard: 6 hearts) regardless of armour and enchantments (resistance effect would still work tho)

I think the pale garden should be more like the deep dark where there is one singular creaking that has the ability to teleport and follow the player at a distance, occasionally attacking and retreating once more. The creaking heart could be hidden in a structure placed in the middle of the biome, making it a long trek to reach it (possibly underneath a large tree in a cavern with pale roots?). Also I so wish the creaking could close its eyes to camouflage itself, that would be so cool.
