The higher capacity battery will provide more oomf - especially noticeable in cold weather. Ideally, the generator should be inside a well insulated box with only exhaust and intake pipes open to the air. I use Blu-Tack to hold the battery nuts in place. Useful for lots of other jobs, too.

The drain under your cabin will attract animals. Why not pipe it outwards? Also just put some antifreeze down the drain and wait 5 min if clogged. Add a little salt after every water dump. I have never had a frozen drain pipe yet. Same setup as it goes out under my cabin and away from my building into the ground.
@RaspberryRockOffGridCabin11 ай бұрын
The original plan was a French drain, but I can't bury a pipe here, so it wouldn't work in winter. And, is antifreeze heavier than water? If not, it will just sit in the sink.
@CanadianDiggersChannel11 ай бұрын
@@RaspberryRockOffGridCabin Nope, the antifreeze will mix with the water or ice and dissolve it. I am on a flat rock so just buried my 2" pipe with some dirt leading out of my cabin and into the ground about 10 feet away, I keep a cup of salt beside my sink and add some after I pour water down when it is very cold out.
@morgansncadventures400311 ай бұрын
@@RaspberryRockOffGridCabin Hey Russ! Be careful with anti-freeze! It has been known to kill pets who found puddles of it and drunk it. Per GOOGLE : One tablespoon of antifreeze can cause severe, acute kidney failure in dog, and 5 tablespoons can kill a medium sized dog.
