Wow! Russ gonna get pummeled by upcoming snowstorm. Russ. Put a tarp over your cabin stairs, big fella. After storm, slowly pull off tarp rolling up the snow, drag tarp away. Safe stairs. Make video.😊

WOW! the footage of the wind in the trees was beautiful, but the Elk footage made me laugh. The large butt that was in shot for a while was funny ,but the farting pooping elk was hillarious, well worth the 6 minutes of filming. Hugs to you all 4 of you UK

Where do you leave your vehicle when you take the ATV to the cabin? Is it parked on crown land or is your property bordering a road?
@RaspberryRockOffGridCabin4 күн бұрын
In the winter time I have permission to park at a hunt camp on the road, but the rest of the year I park in the snow plow turnaround at the end of the road.

@ Is it difficult to get permits for such a cabin? I'm a contractor in Toronto and permits are a nightmare. I want to buy and build an off grid retreat like yours but worry about permits far in the woods and then also property taxes after the build. If you don't mind saying what is the property tax after the build?

You have an comedian ore 🤣🤣The snow-smoke was very artistic from the nature, nice🙏👍I guess they eat the same as moose? Rowan, spruce-tops, birch, grass and moose love things in ponds, some types of water-plants. We didn`t have Elk where I grew up, they was more to the west in Norway. Can you hunt for elk??🦌🦌 Looks like they can have been looking for moss??🤔🤔

i was watching another homesteading video and the guy lives in canada somewhere, but he puts a piece of round Styrofoam on top of his water in side his well to stop the top layer from freezing and stuff falling into it. he just floats it on top of the water. he had a shallow well like yours. after all we all drink out of Styrofoam cups so its safe i guess ?
@RaspberryRockOffGridCabin6 күн бұрын
And the hose and electrical feed through the styrofoam? How does he stop the hose from freezing?
@edholan10926 күн бұрын
@@RaspberryRockOffGridCabin yes it feeds through foam and his hose was buried but for a short length of it, which was covered with foam pipe insulation and it seems to work for him he uses it every day for watering his chickens and ducks

Another entertaining video, as expected from Raspberry Rock. Anyway I think Elk and Deer have very similar diets, of course being herbivores what they eat changes with the seasons. I just hope this spring you have a go at planting some sun choke ( Jerusalem artichokes ) around the salt block. I would love to see you get more deer and elk activity on your property. Cheers Erich the bolt 😊

great footage russell, exp the drone shots the elk were neat , get yourself one of those solar spot lights , so when there is movement u would know theres something at the salt block ,not sure if the light would scare them off just an idea cheers
