I use to be a line tech on diesel cars and trucks. After working in the engine compartment, no matter what I was working on, I would wash the engine compartment. Customers would raise the hood and be much happier about the work that was done. It shows you care in my opinion. I won a lot of repeat customers that way just like you will with your mowers. You turn out good products

Im glad you made this video Alex. I know from experience that it puts more money in your pocket. If people that are selling non running mowers or machines on market place just washed and cleaned alittle they would make more money, because it atleast looked like they took some care of their equipment. Like you said its not magic, its just paying attention to detail. Your getting real close to 7,000 subscribers. Great job my friend!! 💰🎥✌🇺🇸

In the past I've used the same buffer and buffing compound to do the plastics on my mower. It seems to work quite well. The torch method also does not last very long and is very easy to make it not look as good.

Sir, perhaps you could help me with something. My father had a full military funeral. My mother was presented the flag folded neatly, but for whatever reason she refused it and then the honor guard presented it to me (I really wanted that flag) but not being the first born I felt my older brother was more entitled to it. He's a combat veteran (Vietnam) he gives it to his son instead. So one day Iam over at my brother's house and down in the basement where my nephew slept there on the wall unfolded like some kind of rock poster thumbtack all thru it was my dad's ceremonial flag. I almost lost it. Fast forward 20 years or more I finally get the flag in my hands it's mine now. It's still not folded so my question is what am I allowed to do with it can it be flown or does it have to be folded again, that seems wrong to fold it twice and I don't want to do anything disrespectful. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

The torch heat gun trick will work, but as you shown, you will get hot spots and I have yet to get anything even with this method. The downside with this is that it will come back chalky and it makes the plastic brittle cause you are pulling the oils up to the surface.. Your best bet is to use some high grade trim restore such as Cerakote Trim Wipes or Wipe New...Better yet, that will last a decent of time, Kiwi Black Shoe Polish..Its what detailers used on cars over 20 to 30 years ago before dedicated products came out..I would go this route as it is cheap, $3 a bottle, and no chance of melting plastic. Look up Scott HD on tests with this stuff sitting outside for over a year..

Very good video! Never heard of putting ATF on faded plastic parts. Your T1000 mower looks identical to my 2017 Craftsman 42 inch T1200. Mine has the exact same 420 engine but the body is painted red, including the deck. My frame, seat, and discharge chute is black. I think I got it on sale new for around $1100.

Would you consider doing a video on a typical mower deck that has at least half of its top paint gone and rusting and the entire underside rusting? (Not necessarily one which needs structural or metal repairs.) I just finished doing my very first job like this and I’m really not happy with the results visually, although I’m sure the deck is in much better shape than it was before and it will be protected well for several more years. I want to be able to flip these lawn tractors without the deck being a negative selling point.

They might be working machines, but there's no reason why they can't look nice.. Our Husqvarna LT151 was beginning to look quite dull, so after I had sanded the footrests to remove rust and spraypainted them.. I machine polished the mover with a medium automotive polishing compound and finished with a round using Autoglym super resin polish.. even the verry dull plastic nosecone (solid orange plastic) came out like new.. 😁(I masked off any decals and textured plastics though) I found it much nicer to work with a nice looking machine I belive that the footrests began to rust due to a large amount of dirt/crap which had accumulated under the plastic "inserts" on the footrests, so it would probably be a good idea to clean under them sometimes..

Way faster- pressure wash and clean then Rustoleum X2 clear coat on everything. So much less work. The shine lasts for years and matches all paint. It will leave even rusted areas looking so much better. Please try it once. You will never go back to the heat gun and torch with a buffer. The only time I buff is to remove scratches in plastic hoods or to remove the black marks in paint from boot scuffs. I use black X2 or clear coat on the deck chutes. It even adds an extra layer of corrosion protecting you can even use that as a selling point.

@andybecker2693

@@LarryRoof Have you tried taking the trans off of the tractor and cleaning the top where the linkages are. I’ve seen several videos where grass and sticks get caught in the linkages but work once cleaned out. Without a working trans it won’t fetch $100 but if you sell the parts individually you will make more money.
